@op. Our guns is the reason why we haven't been invaded in 200 years.
@other guy. Hummer was shut down years ago.
And Dodge is owned by Fiat/Audi/Volkswagen. |

| Australia has a military budget nearly 50 times less then the US, yet we don't get invaded. We stay out of conflicts mostly, thus why we haven't been in a war for quite some time. The US is so bad, I decided to emigrate for there from the US. Just because I was born there does not mean I like the values, governmental control, or lack of governmental accountability. Look at the Pittsburgh G20 summit. They deployed less-lethal munitions, illegal sound weapons(LRAD), deployed the National Guard, FBI, ATF, and more on a College Campus. They bought over 30 Million USD in police equipment they used for a week, then had to store it, thus building a warehouse to store it all. Then we got Boston. May they rest in peace, however the response was a show of force. They locked down a major metropolitan area, to catch one guy. Yes, he is a disgrace, and committed mass-crimes. However the fact that people got detained by the SWAT team for looking out the window of their personal residence, is a show of force. I will offer my ideas with the fact that you will argue it. I can say that I full-heartily support complete gun reform, requiring a legitimate need to own a firearm, in a class such as a assault weapon, or a concealed weapon. Shotguns, Bolt-action rifles, standard checks. But Pistols, and Assault Weapons, you will require a legitimate need permit. The spending is horrendous when the main concern is not foreign attacks now, it is being killed by your own people. There are more murders there then anywhere else. We have our own problems in Australia, but we can go to work in an office without fearing our own commercial airliners are going to attack us. I can say this: I don't regret leaving the US, and I am glad to see reinforcement like this of why I left. Americans, are confined to their own world, and need to open their eyes. Better opportunities exist elsewhere. I don't mind driving on the left side of the road, having "abnormal cars", seeing kangaroos, people with an accent, etc. I think the Australian Accent is actually very attractive in my opinion. Once I accepted the way of life here, I am grateful. |

Yes, do not deny it, America has a really bad obesity rate. Considering they started the trend, it's predictable.
America spends more on military than education. Thanks for not teaching us anything, while wasting money on guns and jets. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/piechart_2014_US_total The US spends more on healthcare then defense, as for federal spending on education, it's mostly states that fund their own schools.
America has a bad minimum wage. Money keeps inflating and they haven't changed it since before Reagan I think. Minimum wage can't support someone to be able to live in a home. There's welfare
America has horrible workplace regulations. Often times, OSHA can only fine corporations 500 dollars for a death just because they supported Republicans in Congress. A lot of states are pro union and there are a lot of unions so not really.
America, crime rate, guns. According to the NRA there are more guns than people. Then Detroit happened. I'm pretty sure there are more guns in the entire world then people, and as for Detroit, if you think Detroit is bad, take a look at cities in Central America and South America.

@ThatAussieCody Please, use paragraphs.
I am pretty sure the police handled the Pittsburgh G20 riot correctly. This is what the wikipedia said
According to police accounts, about 4,500 people participated in protests throughout the city, with 190 arrests being made.[54] Approximately $50,000 worth of damage was caused to area businesses, with $20,000 worth being attributed to one individual, David Japenga of California, accused of breaking 20 windows and doors in Oakland on Thursday night
If that protest was not handled correctly at least there was a protest. Protest shows the people are willing to fight for what they want.
Also how about the Cronulla riot in Australlia.
A crowd gathered on the morning of Sunday, 11 December 2005 and, by midday, approximately 5,000
By 19 July 2006, police had laid 285 charges against 104 people, 51 having been arrested as a result of the original Cronulla riot and 53 arrested from the retaliation riots.[30][31] These persons had been charged with, amongst other things: malicious damage, possession or use of a prohibited weapon, assaulting police, rioting, resisting arrest, threatening violence and affray.
The police could not handle the crowd.
Also what the police did in the Boston Marathon was justified. Do you want to catch the murderer or not? Do you want to do as quick as you can? Then you have to lock down the town and ask everyone. If you are not trying to find the criminal you are not honoring the deaths of the people.
The homicide rates of the U.S. is not the highest in the world. But yes you do have to be careful if you are living in the ghetto. But you are not likely going to get killed in the cities. No one is afraid of being assassinated in their office in the U.S. unless they did something bad. |

I don't think you are going to be obese by just being in America. You can't blame the country if you are the one eating all that food.
America spends more on military than education. Thanks for not teaching us anything, while wasting money on guns and jets.
Thats why public schools are terrible. America should not spend anything in education and have private schools. Also more money does not mean more learning.
America has a bad minimum wage. Money keeps inflating and they haven't changed it since before Reagan I think. Minimum wage can't support someone to be able to live in a home.
There shouldn't be an legally enforced minimum wage. Let the free market decide what it is. If people are willing to work for $5 per hour let them. Also yeah money inflating is bad. We need to stop printing money.
If Bob failed school Bob shouldn't get a job that gives him $10.00 per hour. That is encouraging him to fail school.
America has horrible workplace regulations. Often times, OSHA can only fine corporations 500 dollars for a death just because they supported Republicans in Congress. There shouldn't be a workplace regulation. If a member of a company killed someone then yes they should be sentence to jail for life or the death penalty. If the workplace is terrible then tell the company. If they don't make it better leave and tell everyone else its a terrible company. Its a free market.
America, crime rate, guns. According to the NRA there are more guns than people. Then Detroit happened.
Still have more guns then people. Crime rates are not worst in the world but it varies depending where you live. |
