(Read it all please.)
I shouldn't have to remind all us how the contest system right now works. Basically you get a free hat if your place that you submited gets enough points or for most accurate voting.
There has been some dislikes in this system. A few dislikes are:
-Places contain free-models not made by the creator.
-Places don't fit the contest theme.
-Voters vote on the place that looks the best, but never play it to see if it is.
A solution to this problem is to make everyone play the games before voting. Not too many people want this, because playing games will make the voting process longer and boring compared to the current voting system.
This is what I have come up with to eliminate all of this.
Contest Party System
My idea to solve all these problems is this, Contest Party System. With this system you will be put into a party to play and vote games. This party will either be made of random people, your friends, or solo play on whichever one you choose. This will help make the games more interesting, because you get to play it with someone. It helps 2 or more player games, example sword fighting. This can also help make new friends. You can choose solo if you want to vote by yourself.
You can also choose how long you want to be in each game before moving on to the next one. Ex. 1 minute, 2.5 minutes, or 5 minutes per game. The longer the time the more credit you are given.
This system will automaticly move your party to the next game after the set time limit runs out. Before swapping games you will be given 20 seconds to vote the game from 1-5 stars on it. This gives the place points.
Check-Points
After playing 5 games your team will have to put the 5 games you just played in order from best to worst individually. You can put your comments on a group wall to elaborate on the games with your buddies. You are given a minute or more to complete this. This will determine if your voting accuracy goes up or down if you were right or wrong. It also gives the games more credit depending on its position you put it in. After this the player will be given the option to leave the party or keep playing. A player can leave while playing games, but their accuracy will drop doing so for not rating all the games. You won't lose points if you leave on a check-point. New players will join the party right after check-points. There is also a maximum amount of players in a party. If a party grows too small it will join another party after a checkpoint.
Skipping Games
If 2/3 of you group find a game too boring or it doesn't match the contest theme they may click the skip button to leave the game to a different one. No one will lose accuracy points by doing so. The skipped game will not show up at the check-point either. You will have to play an additional game to make up for it. If a game gets skipped by a certain number of groups it will reduce the likelyhood of it showing up, which is less tix for the creator who likely made a game that doesn't match the contest theme. Games with 5 stars rating is the opposite, it increases the likelyhood (for other groups) of it showing up.
(Bonus optional)
(If everyone on a checkpoint votes the same game as the best, the creator of that place will get a small bonus of tix. This helps encourage builders to build better and build accordingly to the contest more.)
Alt Abusible?
Lots of games are entered and a lot of people vote. 40 alts don't make much of a difference compared to thousands of players voting every day.
Notice!
I have noticed that usually the first entries of the contest seem get popular fast while the newer entries don't get much of a chance. It would be nice if everyone could get a 1-3 days notice, so people can build and prepare for it.
Thank you!
Thank you for reading it all. I know some people don't find contests much of a big deal, but I would like to make it more than just earning a free hat, because playing those games with people is what makes it really fun. I apologize if there were some parts that weren't too clear for you. If you have a question ask me it, and I will answer it for you in detail. Thanks again! |

@idea
GREAT! I hate the current voting and it's just plain boring... I support. You know, ROBLOX is getting a bit bland. I mean, there are basically NO fun ways to do things, only the actually WELL-MADE games are fun. This Contest Party Voting is a GREAT IDEA!
Final verdict: 9999999/10 (EPICLY EPIC!) |

All of that was true. When I vote, 1 place looks better than the other and I lose points. Most of the places on there doesn't even fit the contest theme.

| One time i've actually had to decide between a place that fit the contest theme and an empty baseplate with a couple furniture items. Guess what won? The baseplate. |

| If a thread has been not posted on for a few days and you bump it like you just did, it's considered necro bumping. |

| @Awesome938, True, but it isn't a bad thread. I mean, sure it's bad to bumb old threads, but what's the point of letting a thread like this die? Sooner or later someone might copy my idea, and then a mod will make it an update thanking that person. |

Spam, spam, spam. That's a bit of a harsh word. I don't stop, because it gets supported. If someone were to not support it, and give a reason why it's "flaw" would make it worse than the contest system we have now, then I would let it die.
By the way this thread isn't too old, sure I forgot to bumb it a couple times, but it gets supported and that's the point. |

| For being as young as I was at the time, I got to say I'm impressed. I'm going to bump because I really don't mind reviving the contest system. |
