Before we get to the point, I would just like to give credit to spitfire7456 for making most of the idea. Thanks, spit.
So, Lua. As you may know that is what ROBLOX users must use to program on ROBLOX. It is also a fairly complicated software, and most people on ROBLOX have no idea how to use it. I'm guessing that many people on this site haven't even touched ROBLOX Studio, even for building. Now, why is that? It's because Lua is too complicated for most people on the site.
ROBLOX's main demographic is basically 8-10 year olds. Now, think. Are they going to want to learn how to code? Most people who are programmers did not star coding until eighth grade. Why? Because most coding is too complicated for most of the kids below that age. If you didn't notice, most of ROBLOX's most famous scripters are 15, 16, or something around that age.
I see that ROBLOX is really pushing scripting and building right now with DevEx. Now, how will we let ROBLOX's main demographic script? That's where spit and my's idea comes in. A graphical interface for scripting.
Have you ever heard of the website Scratch? Well, it's a website that allows you to code by using blocks for code. Lots of children use it, and it has almost the same demographic as ROBLOX. I'm proposing that we do something like what Scratch is doing, except in the Lua format. I think this will be great for kids to learn to script, and be able to take part in the wonders of building their own place. |

| Forgot something: You can also have text coding as an option. |

No support.
I think it's a bit of a waste of dev time. They're making tools for devs who'll actually make games that work: we'll have a CSG modeller soon and 10 year olds aren't usually very good at thinking logically. Plus, ROBLOX Lua has many hundreds (possibly even thousands) of modules. Unlike with Scratch where there's about 30, here we'd have so many it would take far too long to find anything.
If anyone TRULY wants this, they can make a plugin. ROBLOX admins can make the things we can't make plugins for. |

| ... If you still stand by your belief you need to prove my point wrong. You can't just proceed with the topic like nobody ever said anything. |

@3rdblox
That brings back to my idea to have the option to have text scripting also. Plus, there could be a search bar.
Also, are you sure this would be possible to make a plugin of? |

| It would waste dev time. The CSG modeller is in beta and the last thing I want is some kids who can't be bothered to learn to script properly wasting dev time and delaying it (I can't try it yet because I'm not a member of RBXDev). And yes, a plugin for your suggestion would definitely be possible. Ask any scripter. A user-made CSG modeller would be hacky, limited and boast no performance benefits to just CFraming your stuff. |
