So, since early 2010, I have been making clothes as a source of money on this game and have enjoyed quite a bit of fame from it, as well as quite a bit of profit. I used to sell my clothes at 2 ROBUX / 20 tickets and I made a hefty bit of cash because people purchased them due to the low price.
When ROBLOX implemented the Price Floor update, due to my knowledge of economics and the knowledge of how ROBLOX works, I knew it'd be a terrible idea. But I gave it a chance. Turns out, I was right in my assumption.
I appreciate what they tried to do - they attempted to give clothing creators more of an income by posting a minimum sale amount for clothes so players needed to spend more, thus increasing the quality of items in the catalogue and giving people like me more profit. But that's not what's happened. Let me walk you through the issue we have now.
By going to any shirt, pants or t-shirt, you can access the decal used as the Asset in-game by removing one from the ID of the shirt or pants. For example, if my shirt's ID is 15535510, I can access its template by changing the address bar ID to 15535509. And that gives me the image file used to make the clothing.
Using this, I can easily resize and effectively steal the person's work, and then upload it for myself for free, saving me the money that I would've had to spend on the item due to the price floor. And this is what people are doing to me currently.
Before the price floor, I rarely saw any of my clothes stolen. They were purchased, and people enjoyed them, and I made a decent profit. Now, they are being stolen on a regular basis by hundreds of people because they refuse to pay so much for the item and I can't sell it for any less. My hard work is being taken from me and I am earning nothing.
I've seen my clothes being worn in-game on a regular basis, which gives me some pride as a publisher because it shows that people enjoy my outfits. But explain, if you will, how many of the outfits I so commonly see are outfits that have only 20 - 50 sales, or were never on sale to begin with?
Any sort of profit from making clothes is virtually gone. I earn (maybe) fifty ROBUX a day from clothes sales due to the amount of thieves that were incentivized to steal due to the raised prices. For comparison, I used to earn well over 200 ROBUX a day off of clothes that cost one-fifth of their current price.
Please, for the love of God, remedy this issue as soon as possible.

Using the method you outlined for stealing shirts, you currently get a distorted version of the image. When re uploaded, it will not fit the character correctly, and will produce a lower quality shirt. I think we feel that the low quality of the item would make purchasing the higher quality real item a more desirable option.
What do you think we could do to make purchasing the original more desirable? |

@gordon
The sad truth is not many people care what it looks like as long as it's visibly the shirt that someone else bought. It's still better to get a low quality shirt for free than to pay for a high quality one. |

| Gordon, people can use an Asset Downloader, go to that texture, and use the asset downloader, and they get the full-scale transparent baseplate the person used to make the shirt. |

"You currently get a distorted version of the image." No it doesn't.
" When re uploaded, it will not fit the character correctly" No it doesn't!
",and will produce a lower quality shirt" Identical quality
"I think we feel that the low quality of the item would make purchasing the higher quality real item a more desirable option." lol not one bit
"What do you think we could do to make purchasing the original more desirable?" Stop the ability to copy shirts by removing the item that had 1 ID less than the shot. |

Gordon, plain and simple, either the price floor needs to be removed or the option to steal the Asset file needs to be removed. Like someone before me said, people can use tools to steal asset files with no effect on quality.
And regardless, most people would rather steal the shirt and upload it so they can have it for free and make money off of it rather than buy it for the minimum amount. They don't care if it's somewhat distorted, and to be blunt, stealing shirts the old way doesn't even distort them that much. People are good at it.
This update completely backfired, and is taking away from clothing designers when it was meant to benefit us, so revert it. Period. |

Yes! Remove the floor!
Thank you for sharing the biggest reason I hate Price Floor! (That being BC abuse.)
People think I hate Price Floor because of NBC abuse. Under that logic, I would hate BC-Only Places and Paid Access, when I don't. |

The problem is, removing the price floor wouldn't change that. Clothing stealing was actually, in my experience, more prevalent before the price floor, especially in cases of clothing that was already set for "expensive prices". The price floor has made clothing stealing less lucrative, and thus less desirable.
I would agree that is may be to easy to copy shirts currently, and I'd love to see that security increased. |

Instead of removing it altogether, why not lower the minimum price again? I see now reason why not to lower it to maybe 20-50 tickets.
Players would still get a decent amount of money, and people would still want to buy them that way.
I've lost money from the pricefloor as well, as people just don't want to buy my shirt or pants anymore.

| I hate the price floor as well. At least lower it to 20-50 tix like stated before. Clothing theft is just one downside of the price floor, along with decrease of sales, profitability, etc. I don't buy/sell clothes anymore except on rare occasions, and I know this is a bad move on ROBLOX's part. Do something about it. It's obvious we don't like it. Ther isn't one pro-price floor post on this thread beside gordons. For most, that in itself should be an eye opener. We give you our money. We want to see that we made the right choice. |

As somebody who has enough fake virtual currency to buy clothes with the price floor, all adding the price floor honestly did was convince me to never buy clothes again, and instead just stick with the same outfits I've already made. It's bad enough that hats feel really inaccessible to new members/NBCers nowadays, but the fact that you need to be playing for at least two weeks to get a full outfit on puts a pretty big damper on top of things.
All increasing the price floor did was discourage people from buying clothes, leaving them to either ignore clothing altogether or to simply steal designs, which sounds like it's ridiculously easy to create a good-quality copy. I'd be fine with decreasing the price floor to 20-50 tickets, as most people have suggested. I'm also for patching up some security flaws concerning clothing stealing, but it has to be kept in mind that fewer people steal affordable clothes. |

Guess what? Your all complaining about the price floor, but roblox isnt about the clothing. its about the friendships, groups, building, games, etc.
The price floor was added so people would buy builders club as an easier way to afford things due to the price floor. Maybe they were low on funds at the moment nobody knows. |

I didn't read much of this, but I greatly understand your pain.
I would be in great agony if my items were being stolen on a regular basis by hundreds of people
Unfortunately, not many people on the forums care, I care yes, but not many others care.
