OVERALL RECORD GOING INTO WEEK 3: 5-1
Hi and welcome back for a new week of Dubya's Picks! Before we venture into my current picks for Week 3 games, lets take a review of last week picks; The first game of the weeknd was Colombus @ Michigan. I had predicted that Colombus would finally come together as a team and upset Michigan, however I was wrong. It is worth mentioning that Colombus only lost by 1 point, so I wasnt off by much. The next game was Bowie visiting NOLA. This is a no brainer and I correctly guessed the blowout. The final game of the week was RFL's game of the week and featured Toronto and Puerto Vallatra. I had predicted that Toronto would narrowly win. Even though I correctly guessed the winner of the game, I did not correctly guess the fashion (it was closer to a blowout). That has left me with a 5-1 record going into this weeks picks, which I shall reveal right now;
(NOTE: ITS EARLY IN THE WEEK STILL, I DONT KNOW THE ORDER OF THE GAMES AND I MIGHT CHANGE MY PICKS AS THE WEEK GOES ON DUE TO TRADES AND SUCH)
Week 3: COLOMBUS vs BOWIE In my opinion, this is the game of the week. Watching 2 under-skilled teams will prove to be our first real entertaining game of the season because we know for sure this one wont be a blow out. Both of these teams are going into Week 3 without a win yet, and both have a lot to prove. The problem with Bowie is that they dont really have a solid QB. With Wekk out due to suspension and JH proven to be ineffective in previous games, its gunna be tough to decide who will lead this team during Week 4 (and further more, it should be noted that Wekk is out for the next 4 games). To add onto Colombus' case, their owner, 626, should be making his return this week and help lead his team. DUBYA PREDICTS: Colombus beats Bowie -I do think this game wont be a blowout
TORONTO vs MICHIGAN One of the two in-conference games this week. Toronto is coming off of an EXPLOSIVE week 2 win vs Zim's Puerto Vallatra squad and proved to be the best defense in the league that has a very effective offense as well. In all my seasons with being in leagues with Zim, I have never seen a team absolutely shut him down like I saw in the Toronto game. In my opinion, defense wins games, which Michigan lacks. Even against a divided Colombus team, Michigan's flawed defense was still evident. The recent acquiring of LuckyHawk and Jonnytest only boosts the already stacked defense of Toronto. DUBYA PREDICTS: Toronto wins over Michigan -This game will be physical, emotions are gunna come out because these two teams HATE each other
NOLA vs Puerto Vallatra This is the game that will harvest the most fan attention. Another in-conference game, this one gets a little tricky to predict. When it comes to NOLA, they have shown they are the best offense in the league, however they haven't face a legit defensive team yet. When it comes to Puerto Vallatra, people expect Zim's team to be good but a recent blowout loss to Toronto makes them think otherwise. The big story line for this game is which team will prove to be the leader and favorite to win the High Card. Puerto recently sent away LuckyHawk and Jonnytest in exchange for Toronto's Woodall25 and PrimeTimee, both of which will greatly improve their pass defense, which is really the settling factor for me on this game. DUBYA PREDICTS: Puerto narrowly beats NOLA -This defiantly wont be the last meeting between the two, I think this game starts the biggest rivalry in RFL history and provides more entertaining games in the future. |
