Because music is all about verbal meaning rather than sound. What about classical and orchestrated and instrumental?
Face it, music is mostly about how it sounds. For a minority of people, it's about the lyrics. I guess if a song has meaningful lyrics, that could enhance it.
And it doesn't matter how music is made either. Why? Redirect yourself to the first and sarcastic sentence of this post's message.

@CruiserTetron I see, you argument is well supported with many points. Everyone, modern music is bad, because CruiserTetron says so! |

@MoneyPowerGlory And I swatted it away. Opinions are worth nothing unless you explain them. |

i think Grimes said something about her lisp and how it doesn't matter if you can't hear the lyrics, all that matters is how it sounds

Modern music doesn't even use instruments most of the time.
I found a cure for apathy, but nobody seemed to care. |

@CrusierTetron I just denied your right to an opinion in this thread with sarcasm. Don't worry, your ideas will be valid in a different thread. |

Ahem. Modern music may refer to:
20th-century music 20th-century classical music 21st-century classical music Contemporary classical music Modernism (music) Modern jazz Modern rock Popular music Modern music So, basically you're calling out all modern day music.

@reddanger That's a bit disturbing. Anyways, yea. Closer to the point, if you take a look at Queen's song Don't Stop Me Now, its quite obvious it talks about bed funs. Isn't bed funs the meaning of most songs today? |

my parents died of laughter when i was making a joke about mainstream music
we were at taco bueno, the usual stuff playing on the radio
and i was saying "Most mainstream music repeats the hook three times then changes it up a bit once JUST so it sounds original."
unconditionally comes on
then i say "Wait for it... wait for it... WAIT FOR THE OH YEAH OR YEAH PART, THAT'LL REALLY CHANGE UP THE SONG YOU KNOW."
it comes on and there they are, crying because it's so true

found this as a YT comment on one of the live things i was watching
"I respect that you're calling them out for selling out and making pop - that's where you see the transition between artist and entertainer, but I think it's worth considering that music doesn't have to be subversive to be worth-while. I enjoy provocative lyrics, but not every song has to be about politics or drugs or hardcore s e x ual stuff. Sometimes life's about pain, anger, or sadness, and sometimes it's just about trying to have fun."
video it was on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=684L_hbwTMc |

"disturbing"
it's more reality
kids/teens changing everything about them to fit in and doing destruction to themselves in the process
really sad tbh

@winkyfaic I sure said that in the thread message. I never stated that I liked pop music. I am simply defending it because there's too many hypocritical musical elitists on OT complaining about modern society. |

"Ew... mainstream music, truly revolting of it having no creativity and sounding like everything else."
you see
i love to jam out to mainstream music
but it does get unoriginal and sounds like everything else at times to where i just cringe
