You are Lieutenant Kent O'Twain of the Sething Provincial Police Force, or "ProvPol".
You are in command of a small group of policemen manning a road blockade on the transprovincial highway, with the task of stopping refugees from entering Wardwin province. It's strange, because you aren't even near the "border" of the two provinces; you're still in deep into Sething. This blockade must just be some kind of "filter".
It's been about a week since the initial outbreaks and riots. The last time a military unit passed through the checkpoint was a few days ago. They dropped off a shipment of sandbags and had brought a few workers to repair the power lines nearby. After that, you haven't heard much from the government, although all of your communications apparatuses have been working fine.
You are currently sitting in the checkpoint office. Corporal Lowe is also here, checking over the radio. Your battle rifle is leaning against the wall, with several extra magazine pouches next to it. Your .45 Bradshaw pistol is in your holster, along with 2 spare magazines.
On your desk is also the fax you recieved upon taking command.

To the right side of the highway, there is a large field. Several farm buildings are in the distance.
To the left side, there is light forestation. You heard Officer Sanson mention one day that he thinks that the army placed landmines there, to prevent people from simply going around the checkpoint. |

You have enough sandbags to make nests on both sides of the highway. Do you set them up there?
Sergeant Adderman suggests placing traffic pylons and wooden barriers with flashing lights in front of the sandbags to indicate that vehicles must come to a stop. |

Put two nests on both sides then, throw a crate in the front of the road. |

| Quickly, several crude sandbag walls are set up. A crate is placed in front of the left side's sandbag nest. But after a few minutes, somebody has moved it behind the sandbags, rather than keeping the crate in front of it. |

| The auxiliary officers have the least amount of experience out of any of the policemen here. Putting an auxiliary officer in charge would be a violation of police protocol. |

Around twenty minutes pass before you see several people walking down the highway, looking confused. They are quite far off into the distance as of now. |

Officer O'Ryan seems concerned. "They're infected with that thing, I'd say," he tells you.
They have now gotten closer, you see that there are about 8 of them now. Appearance wise, they seem to be normal people, though their movements look erratic. |

They look up as you speak to them, then all of them take off at aggressive sprints towards the blockade.
Your men open fire and gun all of them down before they get very close. |
