If there are irresponsible people with guns threatening to kill you, you could just use your own gun in self-defense.
When you take people's guns away, some will still find ways to buy guns illegally, and use them against you, and then you'd have no way to defend yourself. |

You have about 50 objects at your home, you can use for self-defence.
I don't think that it happens in your life, that a person armed with a gun in a country with gun laws is going to attack you with his gun, on the street, in the wildlife or at your home and you don't have a gun because you didn't want to take your gun for a walk to a store or in the forest or you were asleep while the murder was breaking in your house at night. |

Guns are used for hunting, fighting, and protection I honestly don't know why people want them gone.
The reasons shootings like the ones heard on the news for days and days happen is because they aren't real they are all planned by the government so people will want the gun laws to go into action you can call me crazy but I'm right. |

Does someone here not know the true purpose of the second amendment? |

| The second amendment was written to fight against government tyranny, not for self-defense against citizens. |

| 2013Yay in America taking guns away won't work cause the crazy people would rather shoot then get their weapons away. Also it would be quite difficult taking them away cause many people have them. |

"The second amendment was written to fight against government tyranny, not for self-defense against citizens."
That is the stupidest thing I've ever read. Fighting against government tyranny IS PROTECTING YOURSELF, also open-carry and concealed-carry laws are decided by states, now the federal government.
So is the government going to say "Okay guys, I'm gonna be tyrannical, here's your weapons. You have a 5 minute head start!" Nope. |

It's protecting yourself yes, but not against other citizens.

@Des
You do need to protect yourself against other citizens. What if someone is breaking down your door to rob you or even kill you? The cops won't show up for the next 10 minutes, 10 minutes which you don't have. A gun is the last resort when you're facing a decision meaning either your death or the death of the home intruder. |

Making up situations isn't going to help you in your claim, really. |

I'm not making up situations, I'm giving an example of a situation that has happened far too often, and people have had to use lethal force to protect themselves and their families

| So, if the situation happens, people have many choices such as escape, negotiate, or defend. You are more eligible to defend than attack. |

| ...and killing the intruder is one of those options on the table. Ever heard of "Stand your Ground" laws or the "Castle Doctrine" laws? Justified homicide is necessary to protect yourself or a loved one, however unfortunate it is to take a human life. I cannot stress that enough, and it seems like you're purposely ignoring my points to further your own flawed logic. |

The "Stand your Ground" laws is merely prohibited in schools.
And the Castle Doctrine can not work most times if the intruder has heavier force. |

Schools are completely irrelevant, those Stand your Ground laws are made to defend yourself with a firearm on the street if facing someone looking to hurt or kill you.
I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about with what you're saying about the Castle Doctrine law. If you are being threatened by an intruder in your home, you are immune to any legal action against you if you wound or kill said intruder. It doesn't matter if the intruder has "heavier force," whatever you mean by that.

| Also, if someone breaks into your home, more likely than not that intruder is beyond the capability of negotiating and is looking to fulfill his/her goals, whatever that may be |

So, if you're in a no-gun zone that is yours, you have a right to simply defend yourself with a gun yet you can't have it on the outside part of your place that is a no-gun zone? |
