Roblox's goal, from my understanding, was to be a game where creative minds of all ages could use a near limitless sandbox to create whatever they want that did not break any of Roblox's rules, and could explore and enjoy the works that others have made, allowing such creative minds to grow and flourish.
Instead of embracing creativity and maturity by having some standards, the Roblox devs ended up cultivating obscenity and depravity by pandering to children without checking to make sure they weren't ruining things.
These children grew up to be angsty preteens/teenagers that knew no restrictions and are willing to stomp on the rules without "technically" crossing them in order to show how edgy they are.
Instead of focusing on the sandbox aspect of Roblox in order to allow the best and brightest to shine, the Roblox devs piled on the social media features and let the idiots bury the good parts of Roblox in dung.
Now instead of people checking the blogs and forums to see what neat stuff has been posted or added to the game, they assume it is nothing but rubbish (and in most instances, they are right)
Instead of accepting communication and critique, the Roblox devs decided to not be transparent about their ideas and game philosophy, and allowed players to bury their heads in the sand and ignore constructive criticism.
Players disable their messages and place comments becuase they "don't want spam" and don't think reporting works becuase they have no idea how the reports are handled, and abuse this "feature" to avoid criticism and the opinions of others.
The Roblox devs had a game with great potential, and they squandered it, with the only reason they are staying afloat being simple-minded children with no standards and an allowance, and the only reason anyone with half a brain staying being because sometimes the brilliant developers remind Roblox that it is a sandbox game, and they make something wonderful. |

| Old Roblox's intentions were good, but the features? Compared to what we have today, old Roblox was like the stone age. |

I disagree. Every online community is like this. You may not have noticed it, but it's been like this from the start.

I too somewhat agree, and somewhat disagree. Not all online communities are like this, but many are. And yeah, I still like Roblox.
Also, jojods has a good point. |

Alright, name an online game that doesn't have trolls in it. I've never played in 2007, but I assure you there were people trolling. Maybe you didn't notice them or paid no attention, but it's been the same. It happened in 2008 which is considered a golden year.

@fire I wasn't replying to you. I did sort of correct myself, because that's true not all communities have trolls. But look at the gaming communities, I can't think of one that doesn't have trolls.

I still miss old ROBLOX from time to time, but we've grown. Game Developers are pushing the boundaries more and more, and really. We can't bring back old ROBLOX. Mostly because old ROBLOX is totally lame compared to what you can do now.

I disagree and agree at the same time "new" roblox has a faaaar better engine and gives devolopers more tools to make amazing games we see today
However With the increasing playbase This lead to more people false advertising or placing pictures of frozen as thumbnail and then use town of robloxia and a ton of free models to rake in cash on innocent players and steal players from people who deserve plays ie that assassins creed multiplayer game and others |

@Prinny: Of course every community has trolls. But in other communities, they are the exception rather than the rule.
@the guy who used the greentext arrows, don't remember your name: You're right in the sense that I have simply disregarded other arguments after looking over them briefly, but that's because the arguments are breif and not very well founded
As far as Roblox's sandbox game aspect goes, yes, it has improved. But that is not what this is about. This is about the game Roblox, not simply the sandbox game. |
