So far, Asia is 0-1-2, which is the worst performance of any confederation at the World Cup, and with South Korea probably losing to Russia (maybe 2-0 Russia) tomorrow, Iran has the only points grasped by the AFC in the World Cup as of Round 1 of the Group Stage.
Asia's next likely shots at any points come with Japan-Greece and South Korea-Belgium, and MAYBE - IT'S A STRETCH, BUT MAYBE - Iran-Bosnia. |

@ddude If you watched the match, as much as it looked like a match on FIFA, Iran dominated so hard on the defensive end that Nigeria only had three legitimate chances, and two of those came within 40 seconds near the final whistle. If only they capitalized on just one counterattack they would've said hello to 3 points. I'd say this is a huge step forward for Iran. You may not see it, probably because you don't follow (or even care) for them. |

I've acknowledged they've been better than in the past, clearly, but you still only drew with Nigeria.. I was expecting Iran to win at least with a goal or two.
I didn't watch some of the match because I was going to get a USA kit, but still, from what I did watch, it was a pretty even match.. |

| uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nigeria is not a good team at all. iran is not making it out, and they will not be representative of the asian conference. japan is the most likely to make it out of their group |

@tato Why are they CAF champions then? Even with Ivory Coast and Ghana, who perform much, much, better than Nigeria?
And Japan LOL? Colombia and Ivory Coast are easily making it out of Group C(?). |

the african cup of nations is not taken as seriously as the euro tournament. burkina faso came in 2nd, and mali came in 3rd. neither are african soccer powers

most likely, not definitely. |
