Stormers was a superpower RP that I made a couple years ago. It was about superheroes with storm-based powers (earthquakes, tornadoes, etc.), and I think it still has potential to serve as the basis for another RP with a different premise. What that premise is, though, I'm not sure yet.
What I have in mind: The RP takes place in Denver, Colorado. A handful of people (some may be tourists, and others may not) are in the Rocky Mountains (assuming those mountains near Denver are the Rockies; I wouldn't know), and they're caught in a freak storm. All of them lose consciousness for a couple hours, and when they wake, they receive medical attention and are then sent home to recover. Meteorologists conclude that they've never seen anything like it, and the victims of the storm find that they've developed unique powers- supposedly from the storm itself.
aaaand that's all I got. That just covers the origins of their powers, but I need an antagonist of some sort, and an objective for the characters. So, uh, help? |

well there's a twist
but the villain(s) would need to at least match the strength of our characters
and they need to have some sort of appeal. A meteorologist as a villain wouldn't grab much attention. |

Villain was running a test trial on the Rocky Mountains or whatever to see if it would kill.
Problem is, uhoh powers.
Now Villain is trying it again with good success, heroes have to stop him. Problem is, powers don't protect against storms, which makes the villain extremely difficult. So they start trying to figure out a weakness, tracking down leads and beating up bad guys because everybody tight lipped. Eventually they figure out the way to finish the storms. Now in the final battle, the villain has some tricks up his sleeve, and not everyone survives this.
[sorry for the bad grammar, i'm saving my verbs for my isrp]

| The villain himself has storm abilities, so he used the storm to give other tourists these special abilities. As they use their abilities they grow stronger, so the villain decides later on to attempt to absorb them for his own. |

Forget my last post Perhaps he realizes how terrible society has become, so he decides to use this storm to employ others with these storm abilities. With those heroes running around, he figures that they will spread chaos over society to begin a new age. |

| The villian was a top meteorologist- or used to be one. He's now insane. Madness made him cunning. People rejected him. In an effort to kill everyone as revenge in his twisted mind, he makes an invention that produces lightning storms. He set it on the mountains to test it on anyone who came within radius, but there was an...unexpected...problem... The "subjects" gained powers. But the insane scientist got them too. Angry for the failure, yet delighted with his powers. So this, not only does he works on his machine, but he adds to it... For every living animal that is killed in the storms, the energy produced from the essence of the dying souls.... it will come to the machine, and ultimately, the antoganist. The antoganist plans to release the storm on the world, not only having revenge, but also becoming nigh invincible. |

hi I want to help Here's some random idea that has absolutely nothing to do with what you guys are discussing
So, uh, what if there was this guy who was testing some weather-control thingy on the place, thinking no one was there, and got so upset when he hit the tourist people that he used it on himself, giving himself powers but also making him insane. And then there's some sort of bad-guy group who witnesses some NPC tourist using his/her power, and when they saw the same odd storm over the other guy's lab, they went over and took over the lab, and gave themselves the powers too, and used them to continue whatever they're supposed to be doing. So there's them, plus the mad guy who started the whole thing.
As you can see, this has absolutely no relevance to the meteorologist-bad-guy thing, which makes a lot more sense. So, uh, nice to meet you guys, at least whoever I haven't met yet :) |
