I propose that we add various filter-like properties to the in-game camera, to apply effects that the lighting couldn't do. To help drive my suggestion, I'll give some examples.
Monochrome/sepia tone.
Various amounts of bloom.
Script-manipulable shake. (Keeping focus on the player)
Script-manipulable tilt. (Keeping focus on the player)
Adding/diminishing saturation in color.
Script-manipulable hue-sliding.
Color filtering.

Overall, the general idea is to have player-individual cameras warped for either a general effect or to adapt to a certain area or situation in a place.
For example, if a large rock lands near a player, there could be about a second of camera-shake and desaturation to imply dust flying up.
Imagine the possibility. |

Support 500%
This would be very interesting, and without a doubt would immerse players better into the game. This would also help games based around older time periods. Perhaps better cut scenes as well in games?(In games that include them, that is) |

Also, make it so you see what a human would see, the nose should be at the bottom of the screen in FP, but not seen.
Damn, I forgot to add my siggy. |

Exactly. I'd love to see a 1940's Chicago game that's in black and white. And of course, cutscenes would be improved. |

I don't think that should be employed. |

| I'd also like to propose the idea of thick outlines for a cartoon style, if possible. Just to put that in there. |

"Script-manipulable shake/tilt" is easily scriptable, so that's probably not going to happen. Support for everything else though. :P

I guess it'd be helpful if it were just a property. |
