Do not reply if you have not thoroughly read through this entire thread down to the last word, and feel that you understand how this thread works. I will not leave a TL;DR.
This is a revision of http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=108820257 (A thread I made a while ago that got over 500 replies)
I believe that all of us, even the trolls that come to this subforum, can agree that it's hard for a moderator to keep up with repeat offenders.
So, here's my idea... A much more efficient way to get rid of repeat offenders is not by taking their account away, but rather taking away their privileges.
For example, let's say I was spamming the catalog with comments saying "Come to my game!"
Rather than getting a warning saying "Don't spam on ROBLOX!" I'd lose the ability to Comment for 24 hours. If I was a repeat offender on the Forums, and was extremely offensive, I would lose the ability to post to the Forums.
All of these would be for my IP, to prevent alts. But, -temporary- IP bans for specific reasons. So, I can't just log into an alt to post spam to the comments or inappropriate content to the Forums, but I don't lose my account altogether.
Of course, a moderator would still be able to ban my accounts as a whole. This is necessary.
Or, what if I sent a spam messsage saying "Join my group, please!" to 5 people? I would be redirected to a Reminder/Warning screen saying "Don't send spam on ROBLOX." And if I continued to, I might get an account ban temporarily, or lose the ability to message temporarily. In this case, it's up to the moderators.
I could lose the privilege of posting comments, or lost the privilege of making threads, or uploading decals if I made an inappropriate one.
In addition, not only new, more specific types of bans should be introduced to ROBLOX. New lengths of bans should be added to vary more.
Currently we have Warning, 1 Day, 3 day, 7 day, 14 day, and Termination. As well as the more rare poison (email based) mass ban, and the IP (widespread computer IP based) ban.
Here's a better idea:
Warning, 6 Hours, 1 Day, 2 Days, 3 Days, 4 Days, 5 Days, 6 Days, 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 3 Weeks, 1 Month, 3 Months, 6 Months, 1 Year, Termination
While harsh a six month or 1 year ban is, think about how "Termination" suddenly becomes ominous and something we all would fear, getting banned for as long as the planet Earth even exists. This both balances out the moderators' powers with banning users and lets them have longer bans.
Even a 1 day ban is no fun, because that appeals@roblox takes 3 days to give a reply. A 6 hour ban will give the same effect to the user but would be good for lesser effects.
Now, let's take the new and improved system of what choices a moderator gets for banning, and add the new types of bans to it.
If I were to get a 1 day ban, it could be 1 day of not being able to post comments, post forum posts, send messages, upload Decals (If I made an inappropriate Decal), or maybe what I did was worthy of not even being able to use my Account for 1 day.
A 2-3 week ban from foruming would likely prove effective for trolls.
And, now, let's make this new moderating system even more efficient by having even more possible bans to get very specific for the users:
What if we were to have the moderator be able to chose whether or not this applies to the user's IP?
Maybe I spam in lots of places, and then I lose access to any of my accounts for 24 hours because it's a 1 day IP ban. Or, what if the moderator choses to do a 3 day IP ban from my accounts being able to post Comments?
Having such a range of 1 days tripled to 3 days doubled to 1 week doubled to 2 weeks and then an infinite never-ending ban isn't good, we should be able to make a more unique system that can give the proper length of a ban to the user to give a more reasonable length of bans based on what the offense was that the user did. |

I hope that a moderator notices this thread, after all this thread is about the Moderation System itself.
Feedback from a moderator might be great on a thread like this.

Support.
http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=136174257 Wanna try out my thread? It's a solution to the current problems in the ROBLOX system. It's pretty much gotten all support. I'd like to see you there. |

Wow, your post is great!
Also, one of the similar posts you've seen might've been my thread I stopped bumping, it was the same concept and got over 500 replies of support but I decided to revise it to be better.
