| ITS SO CLOSE!!!! Brazil or Argentina to win, don't see England getting out of group and Spain to be punished by using their passing technique. |

| Mario I think England would have beaten Honduras if the game hadn't been stopped then resumed thirty minute later because of weather. Honduras got a grip and we struggled after that :( |

| Watched a bit of that match, they have to be more clinical if they want to stand a chance. |

Four years have passed by very rapidly.
My mom is Peruvian, my dad is Iranian, but I was born/raised/live in the USA, so I go for all three countries. Iran and the USA qualified for this World Cup so GO IRAN AND GO USA! They're in pretty difficult groups but they can both put up a good fight. |

lol Ghoochannejhad scored a cracker against leeds. Dejagah will be crucial to irans chances and the usa have some good players like fabian johnson and bradley so good luck man. |

| @mario sturridge should have buried that chance in the first half before the stoppage. I can see us going home after three games. |

| Ghooc My Dad grew up in Peru and I wish they were in the WC as much as you do. I think USA will make it out of the Group Stage. Who needs Donovan? I think that our good form should carry us out, plus the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo (>:D MESSI!) could allow use to make the great escape. Jurgen is a great coach, and he can definatly do it. |

Jurgen Klinsmann was so bad at FC Bayern but he has admittedly done a solid job with the USA, Germany's chances have taken a blow from losing rolls reus. I felt so bad for Farfan and Pizarro when Peru didn't qualify :( But back to klinsmann, his downfall was that he probably should have won the league in 2008/09 with Bayern, but he when he faced the two real challengers at the time (s04 and vfl Wolfsburg) he didn't change his Game plan to deal with the amazing pace in Schalke's play and grafite and dzeko found too much room because of his choice in defenders, Lell and breno couldn't keep up with them and they got battered 5-1. I'm not ruling Germany out btw, it's just sad too see a player of Marco's quality out of the World Cup :( |

I heard miro klose is the only striker Germany are taking? Is this true? Surely Tactics that only utilise one striker will be ineffectual sometimes against teams that park the bus? |

germany can actually be overrated, lol
they may have great players but most of the their selection is from either bayern or dortmund, who play very different playing styles
i honestly think germany can actually have a surprisingly bad tournament. |

"I heard miro klose is the only striker Germany are taking? Is this true?" Yes, that's true.
Oh, and the squad is pretty much the same, so the thing with bayern and dortmund worked pretty well 2010 and 2012. |

(I'm Ghoochannejhad, and I also have alts like Dejagah, etc.) (I also used to be orangehorns/sirhurricane)
@bookface Yeah I know, it sucks, Peru is in CONMEBOL. If they were in any confederation besides CONMEBOL or UEFA, they'd easily top any qualification group in any confederation. We also got our hopes up too high, seeing as we finished with a bronze at the Copa America. It's a good outlook though, by next qualification time the team cancer Claudio Pizarro will not play for Peru anymore as he's too old, so we'll have Paolo Guerrero, Jefferson Farfan, and Juan Manuel Vargas leading the way for us as well as youngsters like Jean Deza, Cristian Benavente, Andre Carillo, and Yordy Reyna for the future. And of course, we have very young skilled guys in the back too like Yotun, Advincula, Zambrano, Ampuero, and Cristian Ramos. I think Peru has a very good shot at making Russia 2018 or at least Qatar (or USA if they revote it) 2022. At least Peru may get automatic qualification if the Colombia-Ecuador-Peru bid for 2026 goes through xD.
@npower Yep he did decent for Charlton after the transfer from Belgium. I think Gucci and Ashkan got talent for a lower-end Premier League club, but I hope to at least see the A.ddi.c/ks or Cottagers be promoted up to the BPL. The Iranian national team's hopes lies on mostly Dejagah and Nekounam, but also the back line, whether that's Pooladi, Beitashour, Beikzadeh, Hosseini, Heydari, whoever. Shojaei doesn't have very much pace so the attack will be all up to Ghoochannejhad for Iran. I wish Iran included Sardar Azmoun in the squad for Brazil because he's fast, tall, and agile. I also wish Khalatbari was in the squad because of his experience. That's alright though, Queiroz is a very good manager and I have confidence in what he does. They'll need to capitalize on EVERY counter-attack they win because the competition (Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Nige.ria) is fierce and all three are expected to beat Iran. About the USA, I think they'll do pretty well. I think they'll get revenge on Ghana for 2006 and 2010 and the game relies on Bradley's performance. That feeds into the success and confidence (which was boosted with the swell two goals against Nigeria) of Altidore, and even Dempsey. And of course, it all starts with the backline of guys like Besler, Beasley, Fabian Johnson, Geoff Cameron, and even Omar Gonzales - who will get probably all the time in Brazil. I think a youngster that could stand out is Mix Diskerud, he's doing pretty well in training from what I hear as well as the preparation friendlies from what I see. I dislike (not hate) all the Julian Green talk because honestly he probably won't see very good playing time in any of the three matches and he'll be a sub at the 85' every game most likely. I also dislike the talk of "LANDON DONOVAN DONOVAN LANDON DONOVAN WAH WAH NOT GOING TO BRAZIL" because, come on, Klinsmann knows what he's doing. He's a World Cup champ as a player and a bronze medal winner as a coach. Donovan still got skill and can keep up but his attitude kept him off the team. Plain and simple. I look for a sneaky third place finish for Iran and a sound third place finish for USA.
@dean Germany may not get as far as people expect in the knockout rounds, but for one to say they won't pass Group G is silly, lol. If Germany was stuck in a group with Brazil, Spain, and Argentina, Belgium, any team you want to add in the equation, well, they wouldn't advance past group stage. |

| Wow. I just looked that up. Joachim Low must have a lot of confidence in the fact that a 37 year old Klose is gonna be the only forward on that whole squad. They obviously must have a functional backup plan if he gets hurt or has disciplinary action on him. I want to see Schweinsteiger and Julian Draxler perform with confidence. I also notice a lack of experience on the defense of Germany with literally the only two with experience being Phillipp Lahm, who is very underrated indeed, and Mertesacker. Boateng's consistency makes up for it though. Beside them three though, I still have question marks about the other guys at defense, and perhaps that's because I don't know the German squad very well. |

| Nah they're gonna be in at least the quarterfinals, if they win their QF game, they're gonna be 3rd place because they're not getting past Brazil. |

Don't expect Brazil to surely win the whole thing.
Brazil's squad could've been so much better but Scholari's stupid.
He could've taken Miranda and Felipe Luis (both part of one of the best defences in the world this season: Atletico Madrid)
aswell as Coutinho and Lucas Moura. |

wow @perran you sure didn't watch germany the last 10 years. If klose get's hurt, we still got : Podolski, Schürlle, Müller etc
And Germany can actually make it into the final, half of our squad already won the Champions League and the other half was in the final 1 year ago. |
