Planetside 2 = many guns, many people, many cool action with many people, large group charges, large group trenches. Large group rage, large group fun, action, more action, spectator to seeing people die then say cooool, Scifi, so much stuff

Battlefield 4 = Wind and breaking stuff

Fighting with a few vehicles and 32 v 32 player combat(BF4)

Or hundreds of vehicles AND infantry with many weapons, GREAT terrain, albeit it's repetitive sometimes, and infinite possibilities.(PS2)

My vote's on PS2.

Oh and PS2 is free and bf4 is 60 bucks so yeah there's that.

you can't really compare a MMOFPS and an arcade FPS.

neither is better than the other, because they are in two different realms of shooters.

skirch i used to play BF3 competitively <3 was #23 in the world at one point for KDR on xbox. got #8 in the world for the AN-94.

Murciie, comparing PS2 and BF4 is actually quite a fair comparison.

While yes, their genre's are different, their playstyles, and general ideas are nearly identical(Sans the different game modes on BF 4)

While yes, PS2 is technically a MMOFPS and BF4 is just a fps, both utilize the idea of massive fights, weak infantry, customizeable classes, and armor/air assets in fights in the same way. Both games utilize armor far differently than any game before it such as halo or cod.

PS2 just does it better in my opinion.

And on a much more massive scale.

One thing that BF4 does have over PS2 is that individual players, while still being relatively weak and not super op such as in games like halo, can cause much more damage for the enemy team than individual players on PS2, where fights hold a slight more leaniency towards team based efforts, especially as the fights get larger and more insane.

So bassically, there it's personal preference. If you're just in it for the pure adrenaline and epicness of the fights, and don't mind not being able to waltz around getting multi kills, then PS2 is more geared for you while if you want to feel as if you're a more singular threat, then BF4 is more for you.

no, the two playstyles are in no way the same. they are two games aiming for two completely different gameplay styles and scenarios. the only thing that BF4 has that would make it remotely similar gameplay-wise is Conquest mode(capturing objectives), and that target is so far away there is no chance of hitting it.

BF4 utilizes the idea of {large} fights. PS2 utilizes the idea of {massive} fights. the insanely vast difference in players changes the gameplay completely between the two games.

[customizeable classes,]

this is a given

[and armor/air assets in fights in the same way.]

im not sure what point you are trying to make here.

[Both games utilize armor far differently than any game before it such as halo or cod.]

they both utilize armor far differently from each other, to be completely honest.

both games have vastly different gameplay to compare them as generally as they are being compared in this thread.

this is more of the point im trying to make i guess. BF4 is more geared to individuals, and smaller squads, while PS2 is geared to a massive effort, thus not making it completely "fair" to compare them this as generally as they are being in this thread.

sorry if my posts are a bit hard to understand. its a bit late.

You're completely wrong on almost all of your points but since I don't want to bother getting into an argument over this, I will leave it at that.

The only point you are correct in is the whole BF4 having multiple gametypes while PS2 only has one. Which I've already covered is the only real difference in gameplay.

Otherwise, yes they are similar, or else most of the world's gaming population wouldn't see it fit to compare the two.

Yes, and the only reason to this is Kil, is because of the game size.

If you manage to find smaller fights on PS2, you'll find that you as an individual can cause MUCH more havoc than if you were to participate in larger fights.

The same would go for BF4 if the scale of players were to be scaled up to say 100 v 100.

if you are going to tell me that i'm wrong, at least genuinely show me that i am wrong, please. otherwise, you aren't contributing to the conversation at hand.

i know that you're probably used to quickly getting insults thrown at you in an argument on this forum, but i wont(and dont) do that. im genuinely interested in this conversation.

[The only point you are correct in is the whole BF4 having multiple gametypes while PS2 only has one.]

i was making more of the point that PS2's "gametype" is so different to what BF4 has to offer that it is in a completely different realm of gametype style.

[Which I've already covered is the only real difference in gameplay.]

the sheer difference in players changes the gameplay to an extreme degree, not making it completely fair to compare them in the way they are being compared by the OP. you simply cannot be that general.

really it comes down to the point that there needs to be a more specific comparison, like "which game has better gun play, BF4 or PS2?". i do not agree with the way the two games are being compared in this thread.

Well I guess that's where our opinion differs then.

Again I believe they can be generally compared just fine, and you don't.

We can easily leave it at that.

Ugggh that's exactly what I don't want to do right now, lel.

Although I admire your ability to want to learn about other people's opinions whether you agree or not.

Maybe tomorrow I'll do this when I'm not so tired.
