[NOTE] Before reading this, this is in my opinion and not a factorial thread. If you do not like The Legend of Zelda please do not flame the thread. Thank you.
Lets begin the list.
10. Zelda II The Adventure of Link - This game is believed to be the hardest Zelda game of all time. The side scrolling map made this seem to be endless in many ways. This game frustrated me many times because of it's difficulty. The enemies in here were frustratingly difficult and made me quit at times.
9. A Link Between Worlds. -This was the sequel to A Link To The Past. In this game you started off in Hyrule and was given fairly similar tasks. The Plot was overall pretty good. The fact that the game introduced the 'Dark World' as Lorule was mind-blowing, especially to a classic gamer like me. But in this game, Ganon was not entirely your opponent, and I will let you figure out who that is.
8. The Legend of Zelda - Ah the game that started it all. This game was another hard game and it introduce many new things to gaming. A Bird's Eye view of a scrolling map made this seem advanced back then. This game was one of the most challenging because of the 'No Map' feature. Which would make gamers nowadays RQ within the first 2 minutes. This game introduced many enemies that would appear later in the series. (Example, Dodongo, and Ganon.)
7. Links Awakening - This game expressed not only it's own features, but others as well! It had enemies from Mario and even had Chainchomp and Yoshi! The plot was superb. After the events in A Link To The Past, Link went on his own journey through the ocean and had a shipwreck. The very next day he woke up on the shores of a mysterious island called Koholint. The girl who wakes you up is Marin and she explains for in order for him to get off the island he has to wake up the Wind Fish. In order to do so he must collect all 8 Instruments from various dungeons. This game was a long game with many great features.
6. The Wind Waker - This game was highly looked down upon by those who have not even played it. The graphics in the GameCube version are a little bad, yes, but do not underestimate it! This game proved to be a vast and adventurous game! Sailing the seas, going to places marked on your chart and much more! This had features like a naval game. You could shoot down enemies from afar and even change the direction in wind. One of the things that amazed me the most was the music. The intro to this song was absolutely outstanding and live. Do not underestimate this game, I highly recommend it!
5. Twilight Princess - Another game looked down upon. This game was a great addition to the series. It is a long game that can only be endured by real fans. The music in this game was absolutely awesome. Especially when you ride through Hyrule field on day or night! This game features an ability to turn to a wolf because of a curse set upon Link. But do not take this game to lightly! It angered me so much, especially in the very beginning when yo had to sniff out lost souls or whatever it was.
4. Majora's Mask - The sequel to Ocarina of Time. This game was one of the most complex games out there. The plot was assumed to when Link was a kid and he had to find his friend Navi in the vasts of a forest. As Link was riding through the forest on his horse, Epona, he came across a eerie person named Skullkid. Skullkid took Links horse and link tried to get to him to get it back, but then Link went through a huge hole (which some say he fell for 3 days). The hole was actually some sort of parallel universe. Link found him self in ClockTown. Soon to find out that the moon would be crashing down on them in 3 days time. So in order to stop this from happening, Link had to go through various quests and even had to change time BACK to keep the moon from impacting the earth. Another great classic that will be enjoyed by ALL Zelda Gamers.
3. Skyward Sword - This game featured Wii Motion Plus. With this, wherever you move your Wii controller, the sword would go. This made it seem really realistic. The time took place BEFORE All of the other Zelda games in the series. This was the beginning of the timeline and introduced information that perfectly fit in with the rest of the games. What I liked most about this game was the relation Link and Zelda had. These two were really close and never wanted to be separated. The Setting takes place in a town called Skyloft. A city far above the clouds that floated in air. The people there had never touched the 'surface' as they called it, and knew nothing about it. The game introduced a Legend before everything else transpired. This is a game I recommend to play HIGHLY.
2. A Link To The Past - This was the third game in the series and absolutely one of the best. This game was played on the Super Nintendo and was highly enjoyed by me. At the beginning of the game it introduces the Triforce and it's power. The setting takes place inside of Links Uncle's house on a dark and rainy night. Link went to go find his uncle in the castle. Turns out his uncle was searching for the imprisoned Princess Zelda. But his Uncle fell from the opening to the lower grounds of the castle. His uncle gave him his sword and shield to go save Zelda. When Zelda is safe, she is taken to the Sanctuary to be kept a secret from the brainwashed soldiers. But this would not last, as the evil magician Agahinim takes her back to the castle. Link would then have to go ona quest to receive the Master Sword. The Sword of evil's bane. Once link arrives in the castle, he gets to Agahinim and just as he is about to save Zelda, the magician sends her off to a parallel world. Link then battles the magician and is cast into that world as well. This world became known as the 'Dark World'. Link would then have to go on a quest to save the Seven Maidens in order to beat the ultimate evil behind this plan, Ganon. Ganon is the ruler of the dark and the seeker of despair. At the end of the game, well I'll let you find out what happens. Anyways about the game. This game amused me in many senses. The music to the Dark World and other places were outstanding. And adventurous and dark theme made this game seem even more fun. This is a classic hit that NEEDS to be played by ALL.
1. Ocarina of Time - This is the most outstanding game I have ever met. The vast amount of room and space in this game is endless. The plot of this game is like many others but like never before. The game starts out as Link as a kid inside his home in the Kokiri woods. The Kokiri infact are a group of 'elf' sort of people who are protected under the Deku Tree. Link is awkened and is informed briefly of his soon role in the fate of the world to come. Link must gather the three pearls of the Goddesses in order to receive the Master Sword. Link travels all over the world to receive the pearls. Links goal ultimately is to get the Master Sword and defeat Gannondorf before Gannondorf gets his hand on the Triforce. As link gathers the pearls he goes to the Temple of Time to open the Door of Time in order to receive the Master Sword. But before he reaches the temple Zelda and her guardian race out of the castle walls on horseback. In Zelda last attempt to help Link, she tosses him The Ocarina of Time. An instrument guarded by the Royal Family for many generations. The instrument is one that allows you to change time if you play a certain song. The importance of this tool is huge. It is used to pass dungeons and warp to many places. As link has the instrument he goes Temple of Time to get the Master Sword. As he pulls the sword from the stone, time passes 7 years. Once it is done Link finds himself as an adult. And also that the world outside has been transformed into a Dark World with no light or freedom. Link then begins his journey to awaken the Seven Sages from various temples. Once that is done, he goes to the Castle building to defeat Gannondorf. As it is done he uses the Sword of Evil's bane to defeat him and light is brought back to the world with peace and prosperity.(End of Game) Now what I liked most about this was the music. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MUSIC IN THE ENTIRE SERIES! The many different songs made this game seem like an endless adventure with excitement and sometimes scary times. The dungeons in this game were somewhat creepy and absolutely the hardest dungeons anyone can encounter in ANY game from ANY series. The length of this game took weeks to complete at times. This game was originally released on the N64 but remastered on the 3ds. This game introduced 3D gaming to the 90's. This was the game that set the stone for future games. And as a proof as to why this should be ranked NO. 1, Nintendo Power (an old nintendo magazine) released the TOP 200 games of all time as it's going away. This game in particular found itself at the Number One game of ALL TIME.
Another reason why I think The Legend of Zelda is the best nintendo gaming series of all time and never will be knocked off. IF you have never played a Zelda game, GO AND PLAY ONE NOW!

If you think skyward sword is the best of all time you must be a modern gamer and have no respect for the classics.

I respect your opinion, although my number 1 in terms of combat is windwaker, the countering was awesome, and the sword combos, there was a ton of different combinations to try, i liked the graphics style.

I don't agree with Ocarina of time to be number one. I, for one, prefer Majora's Mask. And, you don't have to like the classics. You can like the newer ones to be a 'true gamer' or whatever.

Yeah I kind of knew most of you wouldn't agree because you must not have actually seen the importance of the game. Well just to let you know 80 % of the world says OOT is number one and Nintendo put it at number 1 game of all time as well.
