| I have trouble memorizing dates and the US states map. Mainly because I do not study-it stresses me so much I claw the walls. |

@Minister, I had a wonderful AP US History teacher so I think that is a big part of it for me. I've gotten a lot of West Europe history down, though.
@Moss, Think of history as a story first. Notice the big ideas in time periods and then place dates, these dots, within the big ideas. As for the US states, I did that once in 8th grade and figured it was a waste of time. You can get through life pretty well with having general location of states worked out without knowing the exacts.

history is generally difficult if you don't take notes or study very often protip: take notes of precise dates and events that happened on them. if you pore over them until you can recite them by heart you're set usually this is how i study for history tests
