nice offsite
and before stated, Japan signed the treaty on ALLY TERMS. That means Russia accepted these terms alongside Japan. What you're reading is a suspicious website claiming no "official peace treaty" cuase of some territorial disputes
"On August 16, 2006, Russian maritime authorities killed a Japanese fisherman and captured a crab fishing boat in the waters around the disputed Kuril Islands. The Russian foreign ministry has claimed that the death was caused by a "stray bullet"." -Wiki quote
so technically Japan's claim started a little clash. Not a continuation of a World War. Are you saying Russia influence in Crimea is another continuation of the Cold War? |

chew on this
"The Treaty of Peace with Japan (commonly known as the Treaty of San Francisco, Peace Treaty of San Francisco, or San Francisco Peace Treaty), between Japan and part of the Allied Powers, was officially signed by 48 nations on September 8, 1951, at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco, United States. It came into force on April 28, 1952."
and the soviets did oppose to this, but....
"It was not until October 19, 1956, that Japan and the Soviet Union signed a Joint Declaration ending the war and reestablishing diplomatic relations"
so there are peaceful relation set then. |

Nop Japan themselves actually broke the treaty of San Frincisco by taking back the northern islands also, it did not pertain towards WWII at all |

and like I said, since you're so confident with history, answer my question?
Are you saying Russian influence in Crimea is another continuation of the Cold War? |

LOL BTW THIS WAS WAY BEFORE WW2
The first Russo-Japanese agreement to deal with the status of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands is the 1855 Treaty of Shimoda which first established official relations between Russia and Japan.
In 1855, meaning this is post ww2 by a hundred years. Meaning this is a long lasting TERRITORIAL dispute and nothing close to the horrors of WW2 |
