Up, and up, we went, and when we stepped out, the door was locked. None of us knew anything, other than our names. We could remember things, such as the sun, and the breeze, but nothing specific. No names, no faces. It was as if our entire lives had been scrubbed out. We hadn't asked to come here, we didn't even know who had sent us here. But here we were, so we did the only thing we knew how to do. Make a new life.
There were twenty of us to start with. Then another one came every month. Always a boy, always a teenager, twelve to sixteen. And every two weeks, we would get new supplies. Nothing super, no televisions, no alarm clocks, but food, water, medicine, everything we needed to stay alive. We learned the area, established a sort of government even, and tried to understand the mysteries surrounding us. Everyone has a job to do, and everyone knows what we need to do to survive this place.
So far, only an estimate, but that estimate says that a total of sixty people have come up, and there are about forty of us remaining. Some were killed outside, in the night, when the monsters began to roam and the gates closed. Others were forcibly cast out, deemed threats to our society and declared mentally ill. And still others died with various schemes to escape, such as hopping down the Box. They died, in a rather unpleasant manner.
So we live, we survive, we wait. Some think that we've etched out a real living here, but in reality...
We are all at the mercy of the Maze.
The Glade [Locations] -- The Glade: Several football fields in length, the Glade is the home and living place of the Gladers. It is surrounded by 4, ancient looking large walls that seperates it from the Maze, and acts as protection from the Grievers. Small openings are on each side of the wall that open up every morning and close every night. These openings lead to the maze itself. The sky is completely clear, lacking clouds and even a sun.
There are six main sections in the Glade
The Gardens: The main source of food and water: Crops are grown and water is pumped from this area, as it never rains in the Glade. The Track-Hoes work here. Fields and Trees are planted here.
The Deadheads: A small forest area. The graveyard and the main source of wood. Trees and benches are littered throughout the area. There is not much else to do here, and Gladers usually take the time here to rest whenever they're off work. Beetle-blades litter the area, silvery creatures representing
The Bloodhouse: The livestock area, where livestock are raised and killed for meat. There are three pens in the area, one for cows, one for pigs, and one for sheep. There is also a Chicken/Turkey coop. At the back corner, there is a barn: which is the main slaughterhouse. The Slicers work here.
The Homestead: A three story high shack that looks like it will collapse at any moment. Due to the Builder's haphazardly nature, the majority of the building looks like someone tacked it on whilst drunk, instead of planned it out. The living area where the boys sleep. The dining area and medicinal rooms are also in this area. In it contains quite a pitiful looking house which contains some beds and a hosptial. Regardless, the majority of the Gladers sleep outside. The builders often make exstentions to the house, and it currently is as twice as big as it was when the Gladers originally arrived.
The Box: An elevator in the center of the Glade. Every Glader originated from the box. Every week, supplies that the Gladers request are sent up through the box. Every month, a new, memory wiped Glader is sent up.
The Slammer: A jail built into the north side of the Homestead. Used to imprison Gladers who have broken the rules of the Glade.
The Glade [Positions] --
Builders(Keeper ;LNG257; ) -- Creators of new places, the Builders are tasked as the construction force, and are in charge of expanding any current buildings, as well as building new ones. While not the highest of jobs one could be assigned, a Builder is still an important part of the community. Bricknicks(Keeper ;Open; ) -- A job similar to that of a Builder, Bricknicks are the repair-men. They tinker with what's broken, and are the ones callled upon when the roofing falls. The Handymen of the Glade, Bricknicks, as stated, fortify and repair all current buildings. In the event in where there are not enough Builders to do a job, lower-ranked Bricknicks will be asked to help. Sloppers(Keeper ;Open; ) -- The least prestigious of all jobs, being a Slopper is not something anyone wants to be assigned. They are the acting clean-up crew, and pretty much do whatever they can. Treated as the lowest and such, common jobs for a Slopper would be doing the housework, such as sweeping, or cleaning out the toilets and rubbish. Baggers(Keeper ;Unit345; ) -- What one might call the 'Law Enforcement' of the Glade, Baggers are the acting guards. They are also the ones called upon when dealing when the 'not-so-living' human beings. Cooks(Keeper ;Unit345; ) -- As the name suggests, these boys serve meals. While not necesarilly in the craft of making something fully edible, they get the job done. The manage, prep, and roast all the food for the Gladers. Track-Hoes(Keeper ;Open; ) -- Ah, our gardners. The Track-Hoes hack, and till at the ground, as they are in charge of growing, and harvesting the produce. They seed, raise, and reap the vegatables. Med-Jacks(Keeper ;Animotion; ) -- The acting Doctors of this fine establishment, these Med-Jacks are minimally trained in the healing arts. They get by fine, of course, helped by the medicine sent weekly in The Box. Slicers(Keeper ;Animotion; ) -- They work in the Bloodhouse - take care of livestock and do the dirty work of slaughtering the animals for food. Runners(Keeper ;Pawzkat;) -- Probably one of the 'higher' jobs, but at a price, with the highest deathrate, The Runners are the only Gladers allowed about the Walls. They gather intel, study the ever-shifting walls, and catalog them into maps, stored beneath their little shed.
The Maze:
Nobody has ever reached the outermost wall in any direction. The Glade sits at the center of the Maze, with gates opening North, South, East, and West. During the day, the Grievers are usually unseen, coming out and hunting at night. The maze walls constantly shift, and sometimes it seems like only those walls guarding the Glade do not move about.
The Runners head out into the Maze and map it. It has been divided into eight sections, each of which has a runner or two assigned to it. At the end of the day, the Runners return and put their findings into maps, keeping very thorough records of how the walls move and how much of the maze has been explored.
The Cliffs: An empty section of the maze where two runners witnessed a griever fall off. The two decided to investigate and soon discovered a small unseeable hole that revealed that this was the grievers lair.
Terminology: Griever- Creatures that lurk around in the maze with the sole purpose of hunting and killing other Gladers. They are the size of a cow and are shaped like a green slug, with pieces of metallic sheers and rods poking out of it's body. The Grievers only come out at dark, when the doors to the Glade are closed. They can 'sting' the Glader. Gladers must take 'Grief Serum' when stung. If the Grief Serum is taken, the Glader will go through a process known as 'The Changing'. If not, the Glader will die. The Changing- The term used to describe the changes one goes through after being stung by a Griever AND have taken Grief Serum. It is excruciatingly painful and can last up to day or even weeks. Gladers stung also begin to recieve glimpses of their lost past. Grief Serum- If stung, a Glader must take the Grief Serum, which is usually sent up to the Gladers with the supplies. Klunk- Poop/crap Shank- Friend Greenbean -- 'greenie' The newest of the Gladers. Initiation Week -- Where a 'greenie' takes a couple of days to try out all the jobs, to find the one they are most suited for. In the event that a niche is not found, the Green would be assigned a Slopper. Buggin'-Stupid, freakin', stinkin' Shuck- A Glader curse showing frustration Slim it- Calm down Slinthead- A derogatory term used to insult someone who messed up, and their actions deserve repricussions Good that- Used when Gladers agree to something Dong- Feces/Another derogatory term Jacked- Messed up in the head Beetle Blade- A silvery creature designed by the Creators to watch the boys in the Glade. Keepers- The leaders of the Glade

Kayden, at times isn't the easiest of all people to get along with. He his a man of many faces, a boy of many sides, and his moods blink in and out of anger, to happiness. In a short note, the teenager could be described as loyal; for his undying faith, stubborn; for his refusal to give up on a task, and brazen; for his quick reactions, that sometimes get him into trouble.
Loyal, Distrusful] Kayden was born with the ability of faith, of loyalty. He's there by one's side when they need it, and is not afraid to lend a hand. He refuses to let go of a friend, even if they have declared him an enemy, to, an extent which could be described as annoying. However, for those around them, this side of him comes at a price. He is distrustful towards newcomers at first, and it takes a while for his protective, hard shell to crack, though this isn't a impossible feat. Another fault of this trait is that he can be blind to that friend's worse faults, which can lead him into trouble. And although he isn't gullible, is he has so much faith in one friend, then he can be lead into a trap.
Stubborn, Thick-headed] Stubborn, a trait common among the Grimm family. Kayden has the belief that he can accomplish any task, no matter how hard, how despairing with the simple thought of being determined. A hardworker, the teenager never gives up, no matter the cost, and will stubbornly hold onto those close to him. Stubborn as an a--, it's hard to get out of an argument when you've engaged one with him, and convincing him otherwise of a fact is useless. So said, Kayden has a problem with authority, he's simply not one to listening to the order's of others, and will often act out on his own, [no matter the cost] He also has a thick-skull, and to drive a point into his brain, one might have to repeat the same thing, over and over, even if he does get annoyed.
Brazen, Courageous] He's a young man, and like most young men, Kayden has the ability to be unfazed, untouched by the actions[and/or words] of others. He enjoys diving into the fray, being on the front line, simply for the thrill-seeking and action, claiming "The back line doesn't get any fun, this is where I belong". At times, he's shown unmatchable courage, by sacrificing himself so that a friend may go on, so deep his loyalty runs.
Impatient, Sloppy] Now, he may be stubborn, but at times Kayden has shown the ability that he can't sit still. A horrible stealth missioner, it's impossible to stop him from making a sound, whether it's the faint click his leg makes as it jiggles, or an annoying scratching sound with his hands. Bored easy, it's hard to keep his attention focused on one thing at a time, as he will often glance around and miss out on instruction. The only exception is when he's working[or in a task, argument], as he is competitive, and he wants to win. |

The hell? Here's the rest of my CS;;
Character Sheet --
First name--] Kayden. Gender--] Male. Age--] A bit older than sixteen now, but he's really lost count.
Appearance--] Kayden stands at about 6'1, which, in his opinion he considers to be rather average for a guy his age. He weighs in at something around 150, his frequent activities keeping his build lean. Being tall, he is also lanky, and has a tendency to trip over his feet, or to accidentally knock something over with a backhand. A veteran runner, with lean, sinewy muscles in his legs. With skin colour that resembles something close to a creamy pale, with a hint of peach, he's certainly strange. Due to his fair skin, whenever Kayden is pressured to blush, his skin instantly heats up, becoming a splotchy, fiery red. Freckles can be spotted, falling over his nose and even lightly crossing into his cheeks.
His eyes are stormy. Not gray, exactly, or blue or brown or hazel, or green. His eyes were all colours, and no colour, nothing fixed. His eyes, are the kind of eyes that, depending on the light, were green one moment, and hazel the next. Even blue. The only constant in them, was the oddly colour specks that floated around his irises, a redish-brown, clay-like. Another constant, is the 'flashes' of his irises. When angered, irritated, or annoyed, his eyes will flash, in a manner similar to lightning, turning his eyes pure gold for a second before fading back to story. A rounded appearance, his eyes hold, they are lashed by his long, thick lashes, which have been described as "lashes" a girl could kill for. Kayden's features could be described more as "rugged", or "sculpted", with prominent cheekbones and a chin.
His hair is a dark, frenzied mess. Though while it isn't curly, his hair wouldn't be described as straight either. It can be called wavy, because, as stated, it was a mix of the two. It's also rare to see Kayden comb it, as he prefers the mismatched strands and such. As for the accurate colour description, it's dark...almost black in colour with the occasional lighter streak of brown running through. His eyebrows match his hair colour, as in most cases. On some days, Kayden will run around with a faint stubble on his chin. Clothing--] Kayden wears a scrouged-up basic tan tunic, with pants made out of some sort of black material. Being a runner, he does have tennis shoes, though, they are quite old. Personality Traits--] Kayden, at times isn't the easiest of all people to get along with. First name--] Kaile. Gender--] Female Age--] Around fifteen, due to amensia, she's not really sure.
Appearance--] Kaile is, well, the average person. Often described as 'average', with a slim waist, and long legs, she's one of those everyday forgettable faces. She stands at something around 5'6 or so, allowing many to dwarf her. Her weight, eh, around 120, as she's one of those born naturally with a thinner waist. Kaile has a box-sort of face , and almost pale skin. Light freckles dapple much of her upper face, crossing over the bridge of her nose, and even onto her cheeks.
With irises the color of a dull olive, it's hard to keep up with her glances. Many fight it hard to keep level eye contact with this woman after a short period of time, due to her unnatural way her optics can turn hard. In the chance that light happens upon her eyes, her irises turn a bright yellow-green. Her eyes themselves hold an expressive, rounded appearance; lashed by thick, dark lashes. Other notable features of her face include her small, thin nose, as well as the unnaturally darker tint of her lips.
Kai's hair is, eh, blond. It curls in waves down past her shoulder, with bangs cut just a bit over her large eyes. For a more accurate color description, it's a darker honey-blond, lighter at the tips, then at the roots. Clothing--] On the casual day, Kai typically chooses from a variety of her darker sweatshirts to wear, and pairs it with some jeans. Either way, she has a single pair on converse that go marvelous with all outfits. Green glasses are stationed on her face at all times, as Kai's vision is horrific. First name--] Due to his condition, his name has never been revealed to anyone. He is commonly referred to by the nickname ‘Trouble’, as trouble is generally where he appears. Gender--] Male
Age--] Also unknown: Looks to be in his late teens.
Appearance--] Trouble stands at a height of exactly six feet, yet constantly crouches or sits whenever he isn't walking or doing physical activity, and is never at his full height. He weighs roughly 180 pounds. His arm muscles are defined, and bears a healthy, athletic body type. Specks of dirt are always under his fingernails. His skin tone is tanned, though this is hardly noticeable due to the vast amount of dirt that clings to his skin.
His hair is done in a very makeshift buzz cut; having only scissors to work with, it’s done unevenly, giving his blonde hair the illusion of an uneven hillside. He has dull, cloudy blue eyes that lack depth and intensity, giving off a lifeless impression. His Roman nose is covered on the bridge with small, horizontal scars, and his mouth is an uninteresting thin line that commonly never opens. The dirt covering his face hides any other noticeable features and darkens his complexion.
Clothing--] Trouble’s attire consists of a white, though now almost brownish, muscle shirt and dark stonewashed jeans. A pair of brown hiking boots cover his feet. A makeshift looking bow, cut from the wood of the Deadheads, is slung across his right shoulder, and a quiver filled with arrows hangs from his belt. He also carries a retractable metal pole (Originally used to collect golf balls out of lakes) with a rope on one end; used to banish Gladers.
Personality Traits--] Trouble is partially mute, only capable of speaking simple words in a soft whisper. It is unknown whether he suffers from selective mutism, or has problems with his throat. As such, he rarely interacts with any of the Gladers and often keeps to himself. He communicates to other baggers through hand signals. His only notable traits is his quick reaction times and his strength, which placed him into the spot of the Keeper of the Baggers.

Appearance--] He has slumped shoulders. He has bruises everywhere on his body. His face is drenched in dark freckles. He isn't someone you would typically call "Hot," but he isn't ugly either. Clothing--] He doesn't like to change his clothes, so it is normally the same. he wears stuff like a Goth, a dark hood, dark pants, you get the point. But he wears this strange amulet-looking type thing around his neck. Personality Traits--] He is not social, and stays away from other people. He gets angry easily and gets violent quick. He hates being there, and he is convinced his life has no purpose.

Appearance--] Christopher has the basic appearance of a football jock. His brown hair sways to the side covering up his eyes. You could barely tell but he has freckles which he admires very much. The boy wears a black tee which has a C in the middle. It is quite dirty but doesn't smell. Maybe he should change it. Over his t-shirt, Christopher wears a thick grey sleeveless vest that has a hoodie. The vest allows you to see Christophers arms wear he wears a simple bracelet made out of green and blue thread. Personality Traits--] Christopher has a constant habit of thinking he's in charge. But at the same time he is quite and humble; he doesn't really socialize. If you gave him a task or a mission, he would do it. Christopher is quite brave if you ask anyone around you.

She was unconcious, almost dead. There was no way he was going to give the g to him. He pick up his sister and ran, dropping the only thing he could defend himself with,

First name--] Reynard 'Reynie' Lemorn Gender--] Obviously male. Age--] 14
Appearance--] Reynie is obviously not much of a fighter. He's slim, and not particularly tall, but not particularly short. He presents himself as a thinker, rationally trying to work our problems than trying to solve it with brute force. He's a bit tanned, with brown hair and brown eyes, making him look very brown, and some particularly mean names of Brownie have emerged from THAT matter. Other than that, there's not a lot remarkable about him. Clothing--] Unremarkable clothing. Red shirt, jeans, and gloves. Personality Traits--] Reynie is a knowledgable fellow, and he could rant on subjects for as long as he wanted. He doesn't largely care about a few things, and others he may watch them, making sure those few things don't falter. Or maybe not. He's got a normal range of emotions, and has a tendency, once in an emotion, to stay in that emotion.
