| It's coming out for free next month. Plus it's really fun. I'm about to start up a game on the second one. |

| I've played both. I think dark souls 1 is harder. |

You shouldn't get the game dependant on the difficulty, regardless of whether or not it's difficult it's an amazing game. I own the first one, there's allot of awesome easter eggs and different intricacies in the game. The fighting system is amazing too. I haven't played far enough into Dark Souls 2 too make a judgement call but from what I've played it's also awesome.
But yeah, you should get Dark Souls (1). It is difficult, but if you can get a hang of a playing style and the controls it's really, REALLY fun. Plus it's free, so even if you just hit the download button and then cancel the download you'll have technically purchased it (meaning at any point you could just download it for free, regardless of price). Also, make sure to read into the gifts at the start for both games. They each have one or two that are effective later than sooner. |

@jareth you never put into account that I may have been asking about what to expect in the game not whether I should get it due to difficulty

| You only showed interest in Difficulty in the first post. There hasn't been any disrespect in my response(s). Plus I said quite abit about easter eggs and combat. Just bear in mind it is a difficult game. If you wanted to know about the game overall I could tell you a little. The Combat system is pretty amazing, the lore and gameplay mechanics are awesome, exploration is pretty fun and the playing styles make the game all the better. You can play through with a sword and shield and then have a second play through with two swords and have an entirely different experience functionality wise. It's definitely worth it. |

Well then.
Try heavy weapons. They're good for quick take-downs. |
