| They would have lost, because the USSR were already moving to them to make them communist. |

If Japan had attempted to invade / attack the USSR during the early - WWII period, including the era between 1939 to 1940, they would have, likely, been held back. If Japan would have attempted to invade / attack the USSR during the mid - war period, including the era between 1941 and 1943, they would have had German assistance, due to Operation Barbarossa, which began on the 22nd of June, 1941. Though, Japanese forces, including armor, would have not stood much of a chance against the Soviet T-34 tanks and variants, or the menacing KV-1, which terrorized German troops during the early stages of Barbarossa. Japanese tanks never really developed to face Allied armor during the war ; They would have easily been destroyed by the heavier Soviet tanks.
And if Japan had tried to invade / attack the USSR during the late war period, or the era between 1944 and 1945.....? They would have, likely, been easily destroyed. |

| I didn't really mention some other theories about what probably would have happened to the Japanese troops ; However, in almost all theories, they would have been held back by the Soviet troops if they had tried to invade the USSR during WWII. |

| The Japanese had a tank that was more than a match to the Shermans and Cromwells of the allies, it was called the Chi-Nu but was mostly produced in small amounts and was only used as a defense object. |

| The USSR would have to act quickly and move onto both fronts, the USA probably wouldn't have entered the war directly but probably would still aid the Allies. |

@TheHarl
I beg to differ. USSR was going to invade Germany, that's what it was so shook of when Germany actually invaded it, though if there had been no involvement between Germany, there would have likely been nothing going on with the USSR since it would have maintained its neutral status, but some would say this was unavoidable since the German-USSR not only brought ''protection'' but goods as well.
@OP
Japan would have probably had the same scenario as Germany did in Operation Barbarossa. It would have succeeded at first, again, like Germany did, but when it came to a battle like Stalingrad, say, for the Japanese, they would have lost. The USSR's military was getting bigger by the minute, and even if Japan DID attack, it wouldn't have had much effect until later on since their aren't as many as cities, and I'm sure if I'm correct, but aren't places in the far east uninhabitable?

Mongols were in the Comintern during WWII, thus being allied with the USSR. |

"The Hanseatic League (also known as the Hanse or Hansa; Low German: Hanse, Dudesche Hanse, Latin: Hansa, Hansa Teutonica or Liga Hanseatica) was a commercial and defensive confederation of merchant guilds and their market towns that dominated trade along the coast of Northern Europe. It stretched from the Baltic to the North Sea and inland during the Late Middle Ages and early modern period (c. 13th to 17th centuries)."
What? That's all I found on Hansa. |

The USSR would not be able to hold both fronts. All of it's power was located in the West.
USSR would collapse, Germany and Japan would get vast resources available, and then US and UK would have issues defeating them. |

@Sek
Japan would have had to cross Siberia, a place worse than hell and the Eastern Front, to even try to nibble the Soviet Union's morale. It would have posed a challenge, but General Winter would have caught them off guard as well, plus Japan was aiming for a Pacific Empire more to the south. |
