| wouldn't it be a better idea to provide the APK on roblox' website and make users side-load it? |

Let me explain this.
When roblox places their app on the Google Playstore they can request Google to remove other apps that claim to be roblox. Also, when people search for "roblox" the roblox app will be placed at the top of the results, because they are looking for roblox in the end. Placing the app in the Playstore means that millions of users suddenly have access to Roblox on their Android devices, merely by clicking "install". The only con for a company is a small fee of some 10 dollars a year (or month?). This can even be seen as a pro since someone who wishes to troll other people has to pay to do so. Another reason to choose for the Playstore is that the app will automatically update to the latest version meaning less chance of bugs and better security.
Also, what if someone downloads the application from a site that is not the Playstore and the app turns out to actually be a virus? If applications do not come from the playstore there is no way to verify that.
Now you tell me why on earth roblox shouldn't publish it on the Playstore? |

because of fakes,I just told you.
I'm sure roblox' goal is to minimize the amount of scams concerned with them (I'm also sure that roblox wouldn't want to deal with going to court every day),so what I'm saying is to host a direct download on roblox' site for an APK to sideload. |

If you really want to just install the .apk file, there are services online for doing so directly on your phone.

How does one know what the other understands?
Go to the Playstore right now, and search for Roblox. You will find no clones. Point proven, end of discussion. |

Do you people not understand how the app shop works?
Things cannot look like things that have been signed with Google, so STOP worrying about clones. They will not be around.

| I'm sure people would do anything for a fake RM to exist on the play store. |

STOP BEING DENSE AND LISTEN
Google play has moderation, will you PLEASE just get it in your thick bloody skull and accept that fakes will be taken down as they come.
Do you see fake clash of clans, or real racing, or whatever? No.

they still will come back, and that's still some time bought to scam people.
you just think that google's moderation is indestructible.
and if you have to resort to belittling to get something through then you're in no position to negotiate ; you're just a masochist. |

"they still will come back, and that's still some time bought to scam people."
They're very rare, and trust me, it won't happen. It hasn't happened on iOS has it?
"you just think that google's moderation is indestructible."
lolno
"and if you have to resort to belittling to get something through then you're in no position to negotiate ; you're just a masochist."
what the hell does masochism have to do with this? And belittling is a common tactic in a debate as it allows the collection of facts to be more precise.
Anyway, my point still stands, have you seen any fake clash of clans or real racing or whatever? In my year of using Android, I've not seen a single fake on the play store of games that are bigger than bedroom programming.
Plus, if you're so worried about fakes, then you're MORE likely to get fakes when sideloading than doing the app store.

"It hasn't happened on iOS has it?"
because they don't even allow apps written in something else than objC
"in my YEAR"
I've been using android since 2010,what about it?
"MORE likely to get fakes"
you're saying that a "bedroom programmer" hacks an entire site secured by something even bigger than SSL on a daily basis?
"in a debate"
I just said it was a negotiation >_>
"lolno"

"because they don't even allow apps written in something else than objC"
So?
"I've been using android since 2010,what about it?"
Again, so?
"you're saying that a "bedroom programmer" hacks an entire site secured by something even bigger than SSL on a daily basis?"
I didn't say anything about bedroom programmers hacking.
"lolyes"
So let me get this straight, because I haven't seen any fakes in google play, that makes me automatically think I'm thinking that their moderation is indestructable.
Yeah, no it doesn't.
