| As un-American as that is, he has the right to refuse to say that. Also consider that schools have been forced to cancel the singing of Christmas songs at Christmas time. |

| He should respect the people that died for that flag and for the god they believed in. He should say the whole thing or none at all. I don't know why the teacher cared that much though. He/she can't make them believe in a deity. |

| It might now seem like there is a lot of freedom but you can use the laws and amendments to win any battle. |

lol why go 2 a school that makes u do tht
if you are going to go to a school that makes you do that, say it out of respect, even if you don't believe in god. it's really just a respect thing...... |

| Like seriously, why would you punish a kid for not saying "Under God" in a pledge? This is how corrupt schools are getting now days. What ever happened to Religious Freedom or Freedom of Speech? Just like how people talk about atheists getting persecuted for their beliefs, It's just dumb. |

| I honestly think that democracy is stupid, it all depends on the knowledge of the populous. If you have an ignorant populous, the system will begin to fall apart. |

| I agree Spec. I am Muslim so we do believe in God (Allah), but I hate saying "Under God" myself because there are some people that don't need to say it. |

"pledging to an inanimate object is stupid in the first place."
But it still represents our country and the freedom we fought for.
Some people just take it more seriously than others. |

I think that's fine, in all honesty. BUT, 'Under God' in the pledge is meant for the NATION ITSELF under the guidance of God, not the people, in which in this case, you technically do not have the right to refuse to say 'Under God'. BUT You should not have to be punished for it(unless you're loyal to a different country, of course).
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, (one Nation under God), indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." ^ NO COMMA, |

you cannot fully proof that there is no god just as I cannot fully prove that there is one.

| Inanimate object? So you're saying that there is a god, but he's like a piece of pottery or something? (Pointing out how you used that word wrong) |

Teacher can get in trouble. In kindergarten my teacher "transferred" to another school after she embarrassed me for not doing the pledge. |
