katakana
anywho so there are four types basically of writing styles
romaji: romanized version of japanese. basically it's japanese that is written as if it's english. generally you dont want to use romaji unless you dont speak japanese and are trying to pronounce something.
kanji: chinese characters japan imported a really really long time ago, basically used in the situations that hiragana and katakana aren't used in.
hiragana: basic writing system, makes up most grammar participles and stuff. i learned hiragana first
katakana, only really used for sound effects and emphasis. despite that though people use it in a lot of contemporary places in japan so you need to know it to get around.

i guess you shouldn't call them 'writing styles' more like forms of writing.
anywho yea i can fluently write/speak all four, although i tend not to speak it around anyone because i hate my accent.
