Hi guys, I'm curious about how the Roblox Chat Filter works. I've been working on a chat GUI that replaces ROBLOX's because of my need to have more control over it. I did this by completely turning off roblox's and making my own "Type Here" bar at the bottom, with a gui at the top left (with more features & more control for me). However, I'm not exactly sure, because it's a textbox and a message sent to all other players via text label, if the message passes through roblox's chat filter. I've heard from some people that roblox chat filter checks even the object texts, to make sure they are appropriate if being seen by players, but others say that I need to make my own filter. I personally don't feel comfortable writing a bunch of curse words down in a script for it to check for those, so I would like some knowledge from the community about how I could approach utilizing roblox's chat filter, and whether or not it should already work because of pre-set in-game text checking solutions roblox has provided. Thank you! ~Legojoker |

If the text disappears or loses a letter when you enter it as a name of any entity (like a model, part, etc) then it's going to be filtered no matter what.

So you're saying that it would clear out bad text for me already?

If so, that would mean the chat filter would already work for the chat I made :D!

I'm looking at the forum posts and I relized that mine is a lot bigger than most people's original posts, lol. Hope that's not a problem.
