well yes in one you put much more effort which is metaphorically translated to adding extra fuel to the piece of wood so it burns better |

to have an imaginary friend you just tell yourself you have one and you do, it takes a few seconds
to have a tulpa you must develop it until it reacts to you on it's own and you don't control it's actions takes a few months, or sometimes only one. |

@ruby except that is exactly how you learn things you read stuff, or do it or whatever, you think about it, and you repeat it making a tulpa seems to work according to the same system i really wouldnt be surprised if its simply the abuse of a small loophole in the learning process |

yes I did, their voice and senses are an illusion, but that doesn't mean they can't be sentient
illusion as in *what you see there, or what you just heard, didn't really happen* you can say it did happen, in your mind, and you can make a 10 page argument about how real a tulpa's voice is, but it still doesn't exist in real life
if something only exists in your mind, it's on the same level of reality as tolkien's lord of the rins, both were imagined and are not real, the only big differences are that a tulpa can do stuff, it's a being, not a world/story, you're friends with it, and is sentience
it could also be possible that everything about them, including their sentience, is also an illusion, but it won't matter because they still behave the same way, and we'll never know, just like a philosophical zombie, completely indistinguishable, you could have one in your family, you'll never know if someone is a philosophical zombie unless you are them, and they can't prove they're not no matter how much they try |

"btw imagining something for a long time doesnt make it realer than one you imagine for a second"
"real" is about things in the real world
yes, muh tulpa don't real, because it only exists in my mind
so you are correct, it doesn't make it more real, but it adds something else to it, that is strong enough to make you see or hear stuff that aren't there
then where are they, if they are not there? in your mind! |
