he's good, gets far more hate than he deserves. hated by both people not into the genre (listen to only his popular songs) and people in the genre (to act cool) he's like the eminem of hip-hop/rap, or the lady gaga of pop. he genuinely is talented, his production skills shine through in pretty much every track.
he's not the best of course, but he's good |

| I like him only because he's becoming less generic than he was, and because he is pretty talented. I don't like almost any of his music, but I am okay with it and I know that it's good. I think he's sort of overhyped by fanboys but at the same time receives too much hate. |

i hate him, he is responsible for making an entire genre (dubstep) get such a bad name and he set a bad example for lots of producers
sticking to british artists and canadian artists because all american ones took his example |

I don't exactly like Shrillex at all. Nor do I like dubstep, or any other of them type of things. I think it's just a phase people go through listening to that music, really.

Each to their own I guess. I just don't really enjoy it as much as I used to, so I guess it was a phase for me.

xoaxa, i listened to it since 2003 or so since it was a clone of grime music, its not a phase for me. my dad listens to all kinds of electronic and he has listened to it since house music was a thing, he doesnt listen to anything else |

| if you think all dubstep music is a phase, you probably haven't heard much. I'd agree that brostep and neurofunk are both going to go away, but liquid dubstep and drum and bass will stay for a while |

I have not heard much dubstep, you're right. :) But I'm not interested in it either anymore, as I used to be.

"i hate him, he is responsible for making an entire genre (dubstep) get such a bad name and he set a bad example for lots of producers
i'm pretty sure it's more on the lines of people like dubba johnny, bar9, doctor p, etc that gave the bad examples. only three of skrill's songs are bad examples (cinema, first of the year, ruffneck), his two most popular songs are actually really good.
"sticking to...canadian artists because all american ones took his example"
because datsik is such a good example as well, right? |

Scary Monsters and Nice sprites is actually a relatively good song, I think he even composed it in counterpoint.
The sound design is kinda disappointing especially since he is a brostep producer (usually impressive sound design is what makes them popular). |

| I shouldn't have said "brostep producer," I mean that his music relies on good sound design, which that song lacks. |

| i find the synths in scary monsters to be really good. nobody can make a growl as well as skrillex can, and the intro synths are also great. only problem is that there is a serious lack of variety in the song, it's pretty much just those two. |

I agree, Skrillex isn't as bad as everyone says he is and he gets too much hate.
@Worm, Lolno, Skrillex didn't ruin dubstep. I'd say that's Borgore's role. |
