Regardless if it does have PC like architecture, making it easier to program for...and thus "max out", developers are always going to find clever methods of further improving how games look and play on it.
Just look at the first Uncharted. I'm sure the developers at Naughty Dog were thinking to themselves "this is the absolute best we can do". Then take a look at 2, 3, and TLOU. Even TLOU doesn't exactly max out the PS3, and Naughty Dog was pretty familiar with the architecture when they made that.
Same thing with the PS4. It's going to receive a performance boosting update as well, further expanding it's life. |

@TheRealCommander
True. For 3rd parties, they almost never came close to really utilizing the PS3 architecture (save for MGS: GZ), but to Naughty Dog the architecture was like a second language by the time of TLOUs release. |

@wiki
Changed my mind. I still like the Xbox One, but I think Sony did it right with the PS4 a bit more.
@meldo
That's inappropriate. |

Oh yeah i forgot about the performance boost thing
And you're right. Developers always find a way. I'm sure they know way more about gaming console hardware than a few teenagers do |

I mean we're talking about guys who went to school for creating video games for years, Studying console hardware and designing games for them for years
vs
Some teenage guys on the forums who just went on youtube to learn good hardware for pc's
They will surely find a way |

since when were video game developers become hardware engineers?
also your use of appeal to authority is weak. professionals aren't right 100% of the time just like how amateurs (us) aren't always wrong
its impossible to even "max out" a CPU anyway |
