I was actually a sergeant in Vak for almost my entire "career" in it.
I was pretty much Yeller but with less stuff posted to my loft bed and longer hair.
AND I was a HR in EW at the same time
Yeller's a cool guy, though. |

I wish EW was a thing still
like a historical clan
or a chill clan like FC
But I just realized how funny EW's initials are :D
(not an insult, just an observation)

You wouldn't believe how many times we went to war with someone/raided someone and the initial reaction went as followed:
"Who are these guys?"
"EW."
"LOL EW AHAHAHAHAHA EWWWW!"
It got old really fast.
We had the misfortune of warring/fighting a lot of idiots in the year leading up to the shutdown. Most of them couldn't follow basic instructions and a famous quote at our bases became "How do I get out of the box?!?!?!" in reference to the equipment selection system that originally put them in a pitch black box.
Also EW is "technically" alive and well in regards to community. Most of the people are off doing their own thing, but a good number of veterans are all in communication with one another. We even have an EW "Wingverse" based tabletop campaign going on and I personally wrote a story that's reached around 200k words and is currently dead via writer's block.
We're also moving a bunch of people to Star Citizen when it comes out. Every once and a while some of us get together. To either play as a team on a game like Apoc Rising or to squash another guy who started to spam stuff on the wall about EW "needing to revive and save the clan world".
EW is dead on roblox and those of us loyal to the cause will never let a so-called "revival" drag it through the mud like a dying horse. |

Well, mostly in my circle we have myself, Dragonboy, and Sanuske, but that's only because I distanced myself from a bunch of the other veterans specifically because our personalities clashed a lot. Dragon is currently one of my best friends.
San is getting into animation or something, iirc. Probably going to get a degree in it.
Dragon is effectively a genius-tier mathematician who is so far out of my intellectual league I always feel like a moron talking to him about anything, but he's still one of the best people I know in the whole world.
As for the others, a bunch are in a skype convo that acts as the effective "group wall".
Airfalcon (one of the original HRs in EW) is currently running a really small country-based clan.
Most are either doing school related stuff or off at college, but we're still held together.
Most of the MRs/LRs jumped ship as soon as we pulled it into port. Good number left for allied clans they'd gained cred with.
If a proper revival were to happen, they'd all come back. Unfortunately, so would all of the people who hate us. The Ex-EW who have time and time again showed no respect for anything other than power. Even the non-EW that hated us with /YEARS/ of pent-up anger have shown themselves to be liable to come back in full force.
*shrug*
Better laid to rest respectfully than mauled and sputtering in the mud, like I said. |

We were good actors.
I actually wrote a really lengthy post after I wrote the previous sentence. It was a recounting of the events leading up to what happened.
TL;DR, none of us were innocent. We had some pretty horrible people go through EW, which is why a lot of our worst enemies were ex-Wingers. When you get an old clan like EW, you always end up with those kind of people that just want to keep their power.
And... it didn't end at a place, at a meeting, or some big event. EW ended in a three-way argument between me, mededude, and dragonboy, and no matter who won it would've ended. I wanted to believe that the HRs weren't at fault for what happened - that we were dealt a bad hand and, granted, we did bungle it, but it wasn't our fault. Mede believed the opposite, that we had a chance and we were the sole destroyers of ourselves. Dragon just wanted us to stop fighting and accept it for what it was.
In the end, it just ended with an optimist, a pessimist, and a realist all coming to the same conclusion.
EW will forever be my childhood and the originator of my greatest passions in life. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't want to be a writer. I might not've realized just how aggressive I can be and how that isn't good for friendships.
But it had to end, at least on roblox. It'll live on in all our hearts.
... and for something a little bit more awesome, here's an excerpt from the huge post I wrote up:
"In public, we always put aside our differences and worked as one of the most well-oiled machines out there. Some battles basically became the elite HRs versus the defenders, and we still joke to this day that the only reason the EW had LRs was because we needed meatshields to lay down covering fire for the BA higher-ups.
Probably our shining moment of awesome right before we shut down was when we basically sniped an entire base right out from under a clan. Unlike a lot of other clans, EW wasn't afraid to use "camo" uniforms, and we often had it a rule that if you were ordered to wear a camo uniform, you either did or you colored your body that way. In the right moments, we were nothing but ghosts on the battlefield.
We basically put enough people in the clan's base (there was a small patrol and the raid was legal) to warrant their attention, and used a couple of distracting tactics to lure them out of the base to fight the "random raiders". As soon as one guy was in, the rest of our force joined the server.
We ended up outnumbered 2 to 1, the defending team had four-shot-kill-guns and we had horrible guns in comparison, not to mention better stuff in general, but skill always beats numbers. We declared the war a victory shortly after, when the clan leader started arbitrarily changing the raid victory board in their favor despite them not even raiding our base the number of times they said they'd won."
