| Oh? That movie. I really need to watch that some time. I need a good laugh or two, and nothing is funnier then religious propaganda. |

My Mother, that movie felt like a tv show.
I also had a nice African American lady just doing the generic "black Christian shouts". |

Tsst, tsst, tsst. Don't jump to conclusions friends. I have no problem with Christians, I have a problem with poor Christian propaganda movies that go out of their way to label all Atheists as terrible people and all Christians as morally perfect. |

@Matt,
Well, now that you've elaborated a bit, I can see where you're coming from. But I don't think they were trying to depict the teacher as an evil tyrant; I think they were trying to depict him as a confused and emotionally troubled individual whose childhood damaged his relationship with God (because his mother died).
Likewise, I don't think they were trying to depict the protagonist as a morally perfect guy. Granted, that may be the impression that viewers get when they watch the movie (especially if they aren't Christian), but for Christians, that sort of just goes without saying. Any follower of Christ SHOULD understand that they are not perfect or more superior to non-believers. |

But I don't think they were trying to depict the teacher as an evil tyrant; I think they were trying to depict him as a confused and emotionally troubled individual whose childhood damaged his relationship with God (because his mother died).
They have two Atheist characters in the movie. The teacher, who's seen as irrational and tyrannical, refusing to accept the beliefs of Christians. You can call him "emotionally" troubled all you want, but a character who forces children to accept his beliefs in a school in order to receive a passing grade is not a deep character in any way. He's a stereotypical, ignorant villain. They also have another atheist, some businessman who refuses to see his mother who is suffering from dementia. I feel like the director is trying to get a point across. Something along the lines of "Woah, look at all those selfish, evil atheists. They're terrible people with no respect for others!!! They don't even see their sick mother! A Christian would never do that! Heck, HOW in the world is this not some form of propaganda?
"Mark taunts his mother, who turns the tables on him and tells him that the devil has helped him to succeed, to keep him from turning to God."
...What? Just...What?
And then of course, not content with just attacking Atheists they need to attack the Muslims as well
A girl named Ayisha (Hadeel Sittu), whose family (especially her father) are strongly devout Muslims, is secretly Christian; when her father discovers this, he throws her out.

I don't really think he's being portrayed as "perfect" more as all the Christians in the movie are being portrayed as superior to the Atheists. I mentioned before how the atheists/ are just cardboard cut out evil villain characters, while all the atheist or non Christians are terrible, awful ignorant people. That's my problem with the movie. Instead of looking at both sides and creating compelling characters, they decided to make a Christian propaganda film, bashing every belief that isn't Christianity.
(I'm Matt by the way.) |

| Oh, and one last gripe, they kill the teacher off in the end, And then in his dying breath he becomes Christian again. Because having an Atheist character is just unthinkable! The atheists need to either convert or be ridiculed! |

| Yes, but in the movie, every non-Christian character is given the image to be "evil" because they're not Christian. |
