Dear the staff and decision makers for ROBLOX,

As a very devout player of ROBLOX for the past five years, I've heard many stories and seen many videos about the 2006-2008 version of ROBLOX. A growing number of users want to make ROBLOX return to the golden days, and as of now, they feel helpless. These crusaders for an exciting yet primitive digital world want ROBLOX to return to the age of Nintendo fandoms, Fleskhjerta, Dignity, unique T-Shirts, and awesomely rare hats. I consider myself one of these people. We completely understand that in today's market, ROBLOX could afford to turn back the main ROBLOX website to the way it was 8-6 years ago. It would make the company crumble. Instead of doing this and making such an amazing game disappear, I have gathered here many suggestions, pros, and cons. Well, here they are:

-Making older website themes available: to partially satisfy some of us, we would like to have the themes of the ROBLOX website available back from 2006-2009. This means that we can choose between something like: "Theme 1.0 (2006), Theme 2.0 (2007), Theme 3.0 (2008) and Theme 4.0 (2009)." I am quite certain that the ROBLOX staff has seen the old website themes from these years, if not the Wayback Machine has a large archive of them. To allow someone like me to log in every day and to have 2008 pop up right then in there, would be very exciting.

-Consider the possibility to make an alternate website:
If the theme changes could not be done for some reason, or some users still want the excitement of the full old ROBLOX, possibly an old ROBLOX themed website can be created. Maybe the ROBLOX users can be given certain dates to vote on a specific year they want this website to be themed. To fit the special characteristics we would like, would basically mean transporting every aspect of ROBLOX from that certain year to a new website. In a nutshell, we request that ROBLOX make an exact replica of every spectrum of gameplay from that year. In example, we would like all bevels to be removed and for there to be no fancy faces or fancy hats from 2010-present. Again, we understand the economic costs of doing this. Servers may be very difficult to buy and maintain and long periods of time could be spent transferring all of the scripts to a different domain name.

-(Continuation from above)
If transferring any account details from the ROBLOX website to this new website is not possible, we would be glad to just make new accounts. A new old themed website alone would make us all absolutely thrilled.

-Company benefits, profit, user population growth, ect.
Even though the server costs with both the regular ROBLOX servers and this new website's severs would be great, it would be a sacrifice that can help ROBLOX in the long run. Many users that join this new site, will most likely buy BC and R$ and if this new website is advertised in the regular ROBLOX website, paying members will follow the crowd and buy BC and R$ in the new site, and also have their bought BC and R$ in the old site. Now, on to user growth. Similar to what I said above about people following the crowd. Since users on the regular site will most likely also have an account on the new site, it could possibly create two accounts per person. Again, the more people (accounts) the more money they will spend between the two sites. This means that ROBLOX will have a very noticeable increase in profits. Also, many people may hear of this new website and the regular one (vise versa) and join the masses, and spend money.

I hope that this post becomes widespread, and it reaches the people in charge of ROBLOX. Thank you for reading this and have a great day,
Warmramses, an old ROBLOX activist

No. Nostalgic from several years ago is pathetic. Seriously, how can you get nostalgic over something so recent? I'm still in the same school from when I created this account. Not much has changed. It's just like yesterday and yet I see people getting all nostalgic about it.

And why should they downgrade roblox? So some kids can whine about the changes? It's time people move on from the past because it's not, and should not, come back.

Anything that's in the past is alright to be nostalgic about. I mean, it just seemed like the community was overall nicer than today, and that's what people these days want.

"And why should they downgrade roblox? So some kids can whine about the changes? It's time people move on from the past because it's not, and should not, come back."

How is this downgrading? In his first suggestion, he said that they could have different site themes, not to "YEAH LETS CHANGE THE ENTIRE DAMN WEBSITE BACK!" like you think.

Why should the admins waste time making those site themes again when we have a better one? And things have been added since then (e.g. groups and trade). How would the tabs work? They would not.

They could have archived the old themes, and besides, the wayback machine actually does have workable tabs, provided that they have an archive of the forum/games/catalog page.

When I joined there were no groups. How the hell do you suggest I get to my groups on the 2009 theme? How?

"make the groups page look all old"

Why? Why would you even do that? Old website designs just don't look as nice as new ones. And it's be creating a false image of what it was like then. It just shows pointlessness.

No, it shows that Roblox actually listens to the veterans. Creating a false image is easy to know if the veterans say it- but it's a nice edition.

Why should they listen to the veterans? Finding their site before other people doesn't make us special. We're just players. Stop with this whole thing of trying to exclude yourself from other members. We're all robloxians. There is no need for the divide between those who are "old" and "new" and threads like this just feed this circle of jerks that exists.

The community was always bad even when I joined, and you'd be surprised at all the bugs Roblox used to have. I have some old versions of Roblox archived on my computer. The earliest one I saved is from February 2008. It was fun at first, but then the flaws start to show up, and I start to miss the new Roblox.

The only thing good about "Old" Roblox was that it was new to us, and we didn't know what it could or couldn't do yet, until a few months went by. It's the same story to players who played for at least a year. Everyone calls the day they joined the "golden" days of Roblox.

Also, no one looks for the flaws when they try out a game they first try out. You can be surrounded by idiots, and think they are the only idiots that exist.

I'd be interesting to try out a 2006 version of Roblox Studio though. That's about it. But... I'm expecting a lot of... "Roblox has to randomly close, we're sorry! Say bye to all your hard work! We don't have backup files yet!"

Well, it doesn't have to be divided at all, we just want the old website back. It felt alot more welcoming.

also @thatguythatsaidthecommunitywasbadwhenhejoined

well, i've seen an old thread about this guy and a guest with a suggestion for a guest tutorial

he said that the guest was getting bullied and he chatted with the guest after the guest drew him a picture of him and the guest on a drawing place and the repliers were super nice about the story too, saying support on the idea

Yeah, nice things did happen then. Nice things happen now. But at the same time there have always been jerks, always been ODers, always been people ruining times.

Did we all forget about deleters? Or copiers? Yes? You must have done.

And really, how do you think new members feel about this sort of thing?

Yes, but in '10, people were a lot nicer. People could just sit back, relax... and destroy a gigantic wall with planes and rocket launchers.

"Did we all forget about deleters? Or copiers? Yes? You must have done."

All of the places back then were original.

"And really, how do you think new members feel about this sort of thing?"

Simple, they wouldn't care as long as they keep their website theme.

Seems to me a lot of people are against this idea. I have a proposition. Does anyone happen to have heard about R. U. N. E. scape old school? (Not sure if that's a banned word or not) Basically, the devs for that game found an old copy of the game from 2007 or so. This was before some major updates like "Grand Exchange" (R.S. players will understand). Grand Exchange was implemented even though it wasn't a part of 2007 R.S. Yet, it still looked old school. I think this is what OP is trying to say. He doesn't want Roblox to devolve or downgrade, he, like many old school users, just want the old fun memories of playing the older Roblox. And it's just not only the nostalgic feels. The looks and animations of old Roblox changes how one plays Roblox. Trust me, I tried plugins that users create to imitate older Roblox, and even though they're not too great, they still make me smile as I jump and hear the sound of the old jump file playing. Or, I wonder if anyone else remembers, the green dot that allowed Robloxians to automatically walk to a spot. You don't see any people in 2012 saying 2012 was the best, revert back to that time period. It's usually just people from 08'-10'. Oh, also, a lot of great old games became broken due to the consistent and most of the time, useless, updates. Roblox should at least consider something like Old School Roblox + Updates for the dedicated fans.

Are you stupid? Firstly, no, they weren't. You could copy games just by going on studio since you could visit every place in edit mode.

But that's not what I'm talking about when I talk about deleters and copiers. You clearly never played a building game back then if you're that ignorant on the matter.

Lol, deleters. xD I remember playing Build a Raft Down a Waterfall or something like that. Noobs would delete my raft, but then I'd copy a seat on them, causing them to sit/fall off map. :3 Or I'd spam copy tool to troll people. Good times. :D At least Old Roblox didn't have tons of copied places or misleading thumbnails that lead noobs to play. Anyone remember NintendoZACHERY? He was one of my favourite builders back then; I love his Be Crushed By A Speeding Wall games. Read his blurb, I think it about sums up everything precisely.
