Seriously, just no. Firstly, the post hasn't made it through. The user has done nothing wrong that could lead to complaints, and shouldn't be punished. Secondly and more importantly, the user now knows what they were saying was bad, and the forum filter message actually requests the user go back and edit their forum post. If the user knows what they did wrong and knows that whatever word they were using was against the rules, why would they do it again? If they posted a more tame message, and didn't cause anymore trouble, then why should we ban them?
Banning people for things stopped by the filter before they were posted is an horrible example of an moderation system that punishes people for things they had already been punished for in a sense. Double jeopardy, if you may call it. The user knows that what they did was wrong. They have gone back and edited their forum post. They have understood the word they were trying to use was against the rules.
Then why are we punishing them?
If that, how about instead of asking the user to edit their post, we tell them they are about to get banned no matter what. How's that? Because that's 99% truth |

I've heard many stories from friends about trying to appeal bans of this nature, which was usually met with a moderator comment to the nature of:
"You had the intent of posting stuff against the rules, the filter is just a basic first line of defense." |

If the user knows that what they did was wrong, then the filter system was a success. No questions asked, the user has learned their lesson.
Don't punish them twice. |

Exactly. There isn't a point to it. Users are like preprogrammed bots who do the same thing over and over. They're humans with a life and a family. If they know what they did was wrong, then they wont likely ever do it again.
Then why are you punishing them, ROBLOX? |

Support. Plus, the filtering system sucks, and when we do try to "appeal", like they ask us to, it looks something like this...
Dear, [name]
This blah blah blah automatic blah blah blah system blah blah blah your blah post. Please post to blah blah blah S&I. Blah, blah blah.

So, you're saying this:
Don't bad people who had the intent of making an inappropriate post, they'll TOTALLY learn their lesson and not try again.
No.
I like the filter because if someone has the intent of saying something bad, it makes sure that they won't do it again or, if they do, it's account deletion.
The filter seriously helps get rid of people trying to make bad posts. So, no support. Without the filter, nobody would learn not to make bad posts. |

Most people do Besides, there is no harm done.
How about we change it to instead do asking the user to edit their post, we tell them that they're gonna get banned, huh? I'm not saying we should remove the filter, I'm saying we shouldn't ban people for posts that are stopped by it because they might not have known the word was not allowed.
This is like telling a driver not to speed, then three hours later, you arrest them, beat them, jail them, and impound their car. Tell me, is that fair at all? |

And even if they truly had the intent of saying something bad, the post filter warns them and ask them to make their post more tame and friendly. So they go back and edit their post to make it more tame and friendly, and will most probably do so in the future unless said user is an total idiot. Most users are not total idiots, so if they know a word is bad, they won't use it again.
There isn't a point to banning people for this Every ban issued for. A post that was stopped and edited is just stupid and ridiculous.
There is a reason why the Roblox moderation system is one of the most despised on the internet |

The filter is EVEN MORE BAD if you are under 13.
Your messages sending to people is blocked.
Your post can be blocked.
And EVEN MORE WORSE IN GAME.
The filter is so bad. I didn't say a bad word. |

@cuteboy; he's referring to the forum filter. @Op; I support. I got a warning explaining why the acronym for gun fight should be permitted when in clans they don't use the acronym for inappropriate nature. |

At most, someone should get a warning and maybe a one-day ban. But to ban people for weeks because of this is dumb.

You will not get banned if you get filtered for a non-profane word. There have been many times where I have had a word in my post that I didn't know was filtered, but I haven't gotten banned for it because I never said anything potentially against the rules, I just got on the bad side of the filter.
If you only get banned when it's real bad anyway, then the only way you get banned is if you use words that are profane, which shows intent to break the rules..
..That's perfect grounds for ban IMO. |

Are you sure? Because alot of people get banne for words that aren't profane, like how my main was banned for mentioning alcohol.

And even so, some users may be naive and say a word that they didn't know was profane but is profane.
When they see that message, they go back, edit their post, and nolonger will use that word.
Is it still worth banning them? A ban is supposed to be like a jail sentence; it tellsyou what you did was wrong and gives you some time to think it over. If a user already knows what they did was wrong and will never do it again, then they shouldn't be banned.
