| How is it that atheist's seem to have less rights than people of religion, when we have a completely secular government? I don't care what you believe, but don't ask for a tax break for, don't ask for it to be taught in schools, and don't ask for laws to be changed to protect your religion. |

"don't ask for it to be taught in schools"
because the **theory** of evolution is obviously the right thing to teach
creationism should be taught alongside it. |

| Your right it is a theory, as is gravity. It has been scientifically proven, unlike creationism. |

"because the **theory** of evolution is obviously the right thing to teach"
scientific theory = fact
atomic theory, cell theory, theory of gravitation, plate tectonics theory, molecular theory are just a few examples of other scientific theories. |

| Oh sorry I misread your question. I'd like the right to speak out in public, without being stopped as they do. |

"would anyone vote for an athiest in that state?"
considering it has a population of nearly 13 million, someone is bound to. |

scientific theory = fact --------- No Scientific Theories are greater than facts on the totem pole.
Also I am on the fence about evolution and it all. I do not know enough about either to make a firm decision and I do not really care about it that much to dig deep.
The only real thing in the whole jist of it that bothers me is if the big bang is correct I fear what may happen is a GRB (Gamma Ray Burst) hits us or the sun. |

Gravity, however, can be observed.
Evolution cannot. |

"Gravity, however, can be observed.

yes it can. perhaps not major changes in complex lifeforms (due to the fact that it would take hundreds of thousands of years), but it is observed on smaller scales all the time. |

It's absolutely fine- splendid even- that children are taught religion in a class titled 'religion'. But in a science class-room? No.

What about the CEO of Firefox being attacked by the left because he had traditional views on marriage? How do you explain this? Simply because two cousins (who will soon have a show on HGTV) are Christian, progressives are starting a campaign to stop their show and claiming they said things which they never did? |
