Hello,

What I am here to introduce is the ROBLOX Interface. Many of you may be familiar with such a feature from MMO's, otherwise known as "Massive Multiplayer Online Games." It allows you to easily re-position buttons on your screen. I am introducing something very similar to that. Here it is.

Many people have complained regarding some buttons being "moved" on the ROBLOX layout on the website. We like for certain buttons to be in other spots rather than they're current positions. The answer is a customizable user interface for the website. It will allow you to edit the positions of the buttons on the website (The navbar only) so you can simply pick where you want certain buttons to go. Remember, the way you choose your layout will be client-side only, meaning it'd only display for you rather than changing it for the entire website.

Some people have also made comments about the position of ROBLOX buttons in-game, such as the "Menu" button. Some games have guis that may be covered by the "Menu" button on the lower left corner of your screen in a ROBLOX game. We should be able to simply re-position that button at will in order to have the full experience of a ROBLOX game.

Now, how exactly do we edit them? It's fairly simple. A button will need to be added for both going into "Edit Mode" and exiting "Edit Mode." Edit mode will allow you to re-position buttons on the navbar. You simply click on a button and drag it to another location. If the other location already has a button on it, it will be a form of a "swap." The button that was originally there will now change to the location that the button your re-locating was at. This is a pretty familiar concept with heavy gamers. It will basically apply the same way for games, simply go into "edit mode" which would be a button located inside the Menu and then you simply drag the "Menu" button to a new location. You would then press a "SAVE" button. If you end up not liking the way you customized it and wish to go back to the default look, simply click a button called "Revert to Default Interface."

Now, let's do some questions and answers. Be sure to read this area as well, some of it may answer some thoughts you have regarding this.

KEYWORDS:

Q = Question.
S = Statement.
A = Answer.

Q: "Where would the edit button be located?"
A: "It can easily be located either inside the 'Account' page or simply on the navbar."

Q: "What is the navbar you keep mentioning?"
A: "The navbar is the area on the top of the website that contains all of the buttons."

Q: "What will we be able to re-position on the navbar?"
A: "If it's on the navbar, you can re-position it. That includes the Logout button, the currencies, as well as your name. The 13+ word will have to stick with your name however."

Q: "Would it be possible to completely remove a button?"
A: "No, it would not. As I said earlier, it would simply swap positions, it would be impossible to completely remove a button."

S: "That's stupid. Nobody would want it."
A: "You might view it as stupid, but some people would like it."

S: "It'd be impossible to exit edit mode."
A: "No, as I said earlier, there would be both a 'SAVE' button as well as a button to disregard any of the changes you've made. After you click one of the buttons, it would automatically exit edit mode."

Have anymore questions or statements? I'll try to respond to them as quickly as I can. If you don't support, please provide a reason.

I disagree sadly, but very well thought out.

I believe in one consistent interface, one identity.

@aaron,

I respect your thoughts regarding it, but still, some people want to be able to customize it.

A signature is not simply a signature.
