Because there is no a (using form ax(2)+bx+c), the factors must be
(x + ??)(x + ??)
let's look at b and c
for what numbers y and z will
y + z = b y * z = c
but wait, c is negative
so either y or z will also be negative
b is negative as well, so the larger number is negative
-18 * 2 = 36 2 - 18 = -16
