I know how to pick out PC parts, but I would like to take a fresh look at my PC build.
So could you guys give me a build using PCPartPicker with a budget of $800,quality monitor of $150-200, and the Windows 8 OS. |

I'd rather not have an APU build unless it's really good. |

@Earn Is under $200 with at least 720p and 45 frames considered "good"?

Sorry it was a bit vague on that. That's OK.... But I'm going to have a 1080p monitor and I'd rather take advantage of it. I was thinking of a mid ranged GPU. |

Let me just get my pcpartpickerpants on. /p/3JwnU
CPU: Intel Core i3-4360 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($159.99 @ NCIX US) Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($94.02 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.43 @ OutletPC) Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Enthusiast Edition Video Card ($139.99 @ Newegg) Case: Rosewill REDBONE ATX Mid Tower Case ($28.25 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($34.99 @ NCIX US) Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ NCIX US) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ OutletPC) Monitor: Asus VE247H 23.6" Monitor ($119.99 @ Newegg) Total: $801.62
Now. I chose these parts for a reason. The i3 is the most high end one money can buy and was just released I chose parts that worked well colour wise. I made this with upgrading in the future in mind Oh. You get a 23.5 inch monitor too, that's slick |

@Earn Benchmarks show better performance on the i3. This i3 is even higher performing, being a haswell refresh.
It will also be able to be fully utilized in everyday programs, even those designed for less cores. |

yes an (haswell) i3 is generally faster in the fx 6300 in games.
but that doesn't mean to go for the most expensive i3 that you can. The i5-4430 is the same price as that Haswell Refresh i3 in Poni's build
if you live near a microcenter it makes more sense to go with a i3-3430 for $129.99 or just save money with the FX 6350 costing $110.
otherwise you are looking at an i3 4130 vs the fx 6300, and it comes down to what type of games you play. most older games and emulators will play better on the i3 but the fx 6300 might (big might here) be faster in future games and is cheaper. |

Everything else looks good.
That video card looks really good for the price plus I've always wanted an Intel+Nvidia build.
Case looks good aswell.
Now can that motherboard support an i5 if I want to upgrade in the future? |

But this build is just scraping by for my budget.
Do you think if I bought this during Black Friday I could get all these parts for a lot cheaper because that's what I'm planing on doing. |
