-I do not understand how people allow themselves to become overweight.
All it takes to stay in shape is a bit of physical movement, the intensity of such movements are to the choosing of the person.
Even if you do not eat very healthy, the only exception is people who actually have physical conditions they cannot control.
Seriously, just do pushups, situps, etc. every know and then or even dance around or just stand in place and do ghost jump roping. Do something.

People who don't care about their weight and who would rather enjoy eating than worrying about how they look afterwards.
I'm scrawny due to my metabolism, and others are obese due to theirs. It's part science, like this, and part morals, as I stated above. Not everyone has to care how much they weigh. |

It can sometimes be someone's situation.
I know a friend who became obese when her dad died. |

I simply cannot imagine being so weak. Not being able to support your own weight, jump over something two-three feet above the ground, shortening your lifespan dramatically.
Such actions will come to be of regret if any disasters ever happen to the said individuals...

And how would loathing and undergoing self-degradation over someone's passing be of any coping, just imagine how they would see it if they saw their own kin in such a state from their death.
People... if you call them out on being low most will only then become lower.

I think this thread is a bit inconsiderate... it's obviously not that people want to become obese, it's just that they often can't do anything about it. I eat tons of junk food and am perfectly healthy. Some people just suffer due to their metabolism; how is that their fault exactly? Why pin the problem on them? I really don't watch what I eat, as I said, and it's just a lucky part of my genotype that my body doesn't suffer because of it.
Every human has their bad habits and addictions, and it just sometimes so happens that some of those things turn into serious health concerns. Really, it's just a matter of being unfortunate. |

| RV, honestly. My family was born with it. When I lost him, I lost hope. He was part of my family, a good part of it. He made a difference in it. I lost hope when he passed, that affected me for 6 years now. It's been 6 years, and I've only gotten hope back now. That hope was the thing driving me to be better than I am. It's coming back, but getting knocked out by memories. |

Metabolisms man.
I don't eat breakfast, that's why I have a little bit of excess, not much, but a little bit.
When I started cooking egg whites every morning, I lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks time, sadly I don't have the time for that anymore. |

If we, as a species, were ever so reliant on talk of "fate" and genes we would have never made it this far.
Humans as a social base defy the laws of evolution, where nature would see to it that natural selection would see our lack of strength compared to wild animals have us go extinct we progress on an intellectual level.
As I said before, all that is exercise is a level of physical movement. Simply practice these 'intense movements', no matter how it may make you look, and you will end up getting rid of that excess we do not need.

Humans can't control their impulses at times, just like any other wild animal. There is only so much self-mustered intelligence that can restrain ourselves from doing bad things. I'm not joking when I say that the power of being extremely tempted to eat a piece of cake often overwhelms a human's power to use reason and think about the long-term consequences of eating that cake.
Also, just a little bit of exercise may sound simple to you, but it's not to a lot of people. It makes a huge difference if you're actually quite good at a sport and enjoy it. If you aren't good or don't enjoy any sports, then it is incredibly difficult to find the urge to make yourself run, even if it means getting rid of the weight.
Seriously, if it was that easy, no one would be fat. |

A weak mind is weak. We have capability, and if we do not use it; so be it. There are repercussions. |

In those blank moments you experience throughout the day, where you wonder what there is to do- Do pushups. Plant your feet on your computer chair and outstretch to the floor and do as much incline as you can. Then switch around and sit on the floor with your feet on the chair and do situps. Jump squat in place, do whatever you can. Play epic music while doing it, or play that trendy music and dance around like crazy.
It's not devoting any time to a "workout" it's passing the time when you have nothing to do.

Actually on a mental level, when we eat fatty foods, the brain releases dopamine. Dopamine is a associated with doing good things, it's released when happy moments happen in your life, as well as when your body thinks you're doing something "good."
Due to the fact that the taste of fat and the taste of sweets was so uncommon in our ancestors diets of lean protein and leafy vegetables, eating the sugary and fatty foods released dopamine as a subconscious indicator of "keep doing that, that is good," giving indications for our ancestors to keep seeking out fatty foods.
Now we live in a day and age where fat is readily abundant, and the sweet savory salty food that releases dopamine is always available to us, so; to put it basically, Humans can become subconsciously addicted to food, just like they can become addicted to drugs, etc. |

You make it sound so simple, but it isn't. There are a million things I'd rather be doing than giving myself a workout. If that isn't the case for you, so be it. You're you; other people aren't, and so you shouldn't assume that something that is easy for you is also easy for other people.
"A weak mind is weak. We have capability, and if we do not use it; so be it. There are repercussions."
Some people have weak minds that are easily tempted, and that is not their fault, that's simply how they were born - with a weak mind. Not everyone has equal capability. |
