I'd say fantasy.
Most sci-fis are "Meh" in my opinion, being the ones that stand out is Star Trek(which I don't like), Star Wars(Lucasfilms or whatever will mess that up), and Doctor Who(I will freaking devour that and vomit out rainbows)
Fantasy is more broad, being mostly ANYTHING like Warrior Cats HP(the wizard series) Folk tales, mythology, fairy tales, etc. My Little Pony Inheritance |

I prefer Fantasy, but due to the fact that fantasy is quite specific and Sci-Fi is EXTREMELY broad from time-travel to alien invasions, so at least with Fantasy I know I'm safe.

Honestly I feel like both are much too broad to compare them overall, outside of personal thoughts. Though I'm more inclined personally to be interested in something I know nothing else about if it's sci-fi, though. Future stuff is cool, simple as that. |

| In the past the two genres used to be the same. In some ways though, fantasy crosses into Sci-Fi and vice versa often enough that the distinction isn't too important. |

"fantasy is quite specific"
you're thinking tolkienesque high fantasy, fantasy in general is actually quite broad
anyways i like both but prefer sci-fi due to its being based in logic and reason |

| I wouldn't consider Star Wars to be science fiction. It's essentially a fantasy movie set in space. |
