With summer just around the corner, it's time to get into shape, or keep yourself in shape. This is a thread made so that you can: a. post what you've been doing to stay fit b. post your progress (weight loss, benching higher weight, etc) c. post any goals you have d. help people and suggest things
here's what I've been doing to stay fit every week: -atleast 5 hours of high-intensity tennis -2 hours of weight lifting at the gym -either running 2 miles or biking for 30 minutes every day -30 day ab challenge, however spiced up (I'm doing twice the number of everything it tells me to do, I'm on day 16. Those 2-minute planks suck). goals: -currently run a 7:15 mile, trying to get it down to 6:45 by the end of the summer -more visible abs -bench press 110% of my weight by the end of summer

Pretty much just martial arts, yet all my friends called me "ripped"
I used to do about 75 leg lifts every night, but I stopped when I hurt my hip and I haven't started again. I will definetly start again once school ends since I will have so much freetime.

@1d Yeah, that was what I was doing them for. But I have a terrible spine, so one of my shoulders is higher than the other, which then puts my knees and hips out of line so I can injury them really easily and martial arts is usually what I get hurt from. I need to see my doctor soon about it.

@1d There probably won't be a great solution for it. There is this one exercise we do at martial arts called "Mountain Climbers" and I can't do anymore than 5 because it moves my hip around too much.

So, well, I do long distance track So that means a lot of running. In about a month cross country will start, which means even more running. I have been biking, about 5 miles on week days, 30 plus miles on weekends. Judo and fencing you can throw in there which means push-ups, sit-up, ect. Goals: Run a 11:15 2 mile or quicker (currently 11:30) Run a 5:15 mile (current 5:24) Bike at 25 MPH (best recorded is 21 MPH) In terms of weight, I have gained 3 pounds, now 141 pounds ( a whooping 1 pound over under-weight)

@1d It wasn't that leg lifts that hurt my hip, it was just from something in martial arts. But I have terrible joints in generally, I am surprised I haven't broken anything yet. The worst injury I had was ripping a tendon in my foot.

nothing. track and field season is over with and finals and stuff like that makes me tired and its hard to get exercise in.
b. post your progress (weight loss, benching higher weight, etc)
i'm getting somewhat faster at track; definately faster than when i began the season
c. post any goals you have
