Let's explore some of the aspects of putting ROBLOX on a console, specifically Wii U because honestly it wouldn't work anywhere else. I'm going to mainly speak in a very bare bones manner as I've made this post a few times before way way back when, and I'm tired of explaining it, but I still want to. This post will mostly focus on functionality

Wii U Gamepad:
It's basically a tablet with the power of a console. It is a screen, as well as a controller. The screen recieves information sent to it wirelessly from the Wii U, and can recieve that information from short distances at a very fast pace. The Gamepad itself doesn't have to run much, and doubles off as a controller which sends data to the Wii U when buttons are pressed and the screen is touched, and the Wii U, of course, in turn responds to the information sent to it and relays more info back. It's basically a second handheld TV and controller packed into one, redundant to explain I know but eh.

-Can be laid flat on a surface and used as a keyboard (It can display a different image then the TV). The touchscreen can be used as a basic keyboard, one of the analog sticks can be used as the mouse, and the other one could be used as the players directional keys (Of their choice, UPDOWNLEFTRIGHT Arrow keys and WASD keys.) The A, B, X, and Y button on the gamepad can then be used as shortcut buttons of the players choice, the player can make it so pressing the A key would be the equivalent of pressing the Q key on a keyboard, or any other key combination they wish through a menu in a Wii U oriented menu (Like the computers ESC menu but Wii U friendly.) The START button can be used to open the ESC menu, and the SELECT button can alternate the Wii U's display between the ROBLOX Website and the Game they're in. Players leave through the Start menu. The back two triggers would be set as the LeftClick and RightClick functions while in-game, with the bumpers being the I and O keys (To control the ZoomIn and ZoomOut functions). While on site the Click Functions would be keymapped to different keys, specifically A and B. With the Right and Left triggers serving as a Forward and Backward function for browsing page history.

-If they can iterate ROBLOX to the Tablet they can iterate to the Wii U just as easily, if not easier. It IS a more enabled and user friendly tablet. Especially in this regard.

-It would definitely be hitting the target audiences platform, as well as the obvious compatibility between Nintendo and ROBLOX.

-If they felt like paving new ground they could make voice chat a thing (The Wii U Gamepad has a built in Mic). I don't recommend this for obvious reasons though, and have already seen it explored by other players, it almost definitely wouldn't work out.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Networking:

-Sell the game for free on Nintendo E-shop

-Kids could buy Robux and BC with Nintendo cards which are
A:) Easier to come upon than ROBLOX cards
B:) Less embarrasing for the older audience to buy from stores
and C:) Would probably boost the sales on that at least a tiny bit because people would be able to go out and buy a card specifically for another game, then spend whatevers left on ROBLOX.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion:
It would definitely work, and be an in-between point between playing on Tablet and playing on PC. It's also really the only platform console-wise that the game would thrive on. It would be a free download from the Nintendo E-shop.

@IBubb
How does it feel knowing that the first post on your new account is one that makes literally every post maker ever moderately enraged and annoyed at your presence.
Metaphorically speaking you went to break the ceremonial wine bottle on the side of your new boat and hit the Captain instead.

@Cool
Yeh, it could actually work out really well.

Don't know if I translated that well enough but I think that came out as "The Graphics though".

They could put the graphics on par with the Tablet version if push came to shove, however I feel as though the Wii U could handle it. I mean, if it can handle a slightly below par Call of Duty Ghosts level graphics, it should be able to handle this. Even if that means ROBLOX having to slightly downgrade the graphics for that purpose, although the main problem would be games with incredible brick counts. However that's a problem even now, with lower grade computers like the one I'm using. Again, should be able to tackle most of it however it might be wise for them to just do a half-baked tackle to it and see how it works out before going neck-deep in it.

Should be fine.

That's the thing though Zack, Nintendo isn't going to be down for a while. If you paid attention to their buisness in the earlier years, they had outrageous prices and a monopoly on the video game industry. Everyone that made a game on their console paid licensing to them, and there wasn't many places to go. The other places to go were also less popular and commonly less powerful. It wasn't until the whole GameCube VS PS2 gen where they started to fully lose their monopoly. That in mind, they've banked 10.5 BILLION US dollars (Approx.). That would be enough to keep the company afloat at the rate they're going right now for the next 40 years. Even then, they're not dipping into that as highly as you'd think, they're playing like a smart buisness. Cutting the higher up employees pay (with the employees consent of course) to avoid firing any workers. They're an amazing company ethically and morally. Plus, they're currently working towards bagging some console sellers and trying to outreach. ROBLOX could probably actually profit from offering to put their game on their console and not on Sony's or Microsofts console gaming devices. They'd be taking advantage of Nintendo's current state, yeah, but still. Nintendo is currently developing multiple console selling games, including a new Smash Bros with long awaited characters like Little Mac and Mega-man, as well as making a new Mario Kart with customizable karts. They're actually trying to appeal to their audiences to make a profit, and working with the high demands of the consumers to make a comeback. They still have one of the most popular handheld gaming services around as well, which far outsells PS VITA as it stands.

It could really work out in the end.

@Digi
That's why this would be a good way to cut a deal with Nintendo, it would be a slight console seller at the very least. Nintendo's looking to buy specifically into relatively exclusive games right now. Plus neither of those consoles would work, and this would be a small form of outreach for the site as well. I have a Wii U, and had one for the last 5 months. I didn't have a functional computer for a year until a couple weeks ago.
@Dan
I forgot about 1 and 2 being on the Gamepad, and actually had to check mine to make sure you weren't messin' with me. They could be other forms of custom input buttons, or serve to initiate and send chat messages.

Stopped reading at Wii U.
That machine is as good as an iPhone with iOS4: it sounds professional until you try it. Then you'd've wished you used a PS4 to project some tens of thousands of pricks and many more terrain voxels and concurrent online players in 3D graphical space for max playability.

Don't be close-minded. They've already reached out to Tablet and Mobile devices anyways. It's not long before something new that catches their fancy comes out and they start expanding more.

You're underestimating the Wii U. It can run Call of Duty, a phone can't. You don't own a Wii U do you?

They are by no means more powerful than an Xbox One or PS4, they aren't meant to be they're meant to be family oriented. However, they're strong enough.

Aha! That's what 1 or 2 could be for. One could be for chat initiation and the other for opening and closing the backpack.

I own a Wii U, and I also own a PS4, and I can tell you that the Wii U, although a neat advancement for Nintendo, has substandard quality compared to the PS4. the PS4 runs smoother and faster. Just imagine the intense lag on the Wii U, let alone the lag from a computer.

Sorry to say, realistically, this probably isn't coming soon.

Everyone knows that the next device platform is Android, and after that it's going to be the major gaming consoles like the Xbox and Play Station. After that, the Wii U might be a possibility.

I don't know if you were aware of this but there is a reason why games for the Wii U so far from third party developers so far have been so sub-par. You're running around in circles talking about how much better the PS4 is when nobodies argueing about that. We're argueing about how much better Wii U is for ROBLOX. The PS4 doesn't have the same features and accessibilities that would make it work. Is it more powerful? Yes. If you had actually read anything I said prior, I acknowledged that the first time it was brought up. However, just like with a tablet, it's a much better choice for this. Don't fan-boy about the PS4.

Asides from Monster Hunter and Scribblenauts we haven't seen a good or relatively impressive game for the Wii U asides from Nintendo released ones because no company wants to look past the basics for the system, because the basics for PS4 and Xbox look better.

Realistically the Wii U is powerful enough, but in a round about way. It approaches how it reads and works with games much differently than other consoles. The current third party devs don't handle the Wii U's hardware intelligently, and usually just port their games onto the Wii U to make money, not fans. They put fan-gaining iterations onto Xbox and Ps4, and point fingers at Nintendo when people don't like their half-made ports.

Not only is it the most user friendly (Free online, easy to understand UI, and easy to use controls, pick up and play, and targetted for all audiences)

Hardware:

2GB of Ram (Not allot. Not at all, but it's on par. It's enough. My computer has 2 Gigs and it works fine, just don't push and pull on it.)

CPU Tri-Core PowerPC "Espresso" CPU (Functional. It works. It works better than a tablets would. It should manage.)

GPU AMD "Latte" 550 MHz GPU w/ 320 shaders (Surprisingly powerful, all things considered. It'll do the job twice, given the chance.)

Storage 32GB with Removable storage compatibility (Room for upgrade if necessary)

Price : 299-350$ (The lowest. Actually below some tablets, so if someone did decide to look specifically for a console for ROBLOX that would be the go to if they were without a console or PC for it at the time.)

Motion sensed controls wouldn't be a part of this
@Crs
If they're going to continually make BC only a thing, and continually ask for our money we can ask for some work to be done in exchange.
@ForAdmin
That's a good point, however the other two consoles power don't make up for a lack of accessibility and compatibility feature wise.

holy mother of god okay we get that you are a corporate slave for Nintendo but seriously these long posts are unnecessary to support something that is never going to happen

do you see minecraft making a move to Nintendo systems? no. because it Nintendo is a company that hates working with third parties. and when they do, it's with actual relevant media-based technology like the early days with SEGA and Sony

How much of this did you actually read.

Nintendo is looking to branch out to other companies, aka third parties, to make games for their consoles. As well as being very cooperative with Indie game developers since the launch of their system. How much have you actually read about Nintendo, currently. Like, the company as it stands today.

Also, I'm not corporate and writing long posts about something I'd like to see happen is something I want to do. I suggested Outfits before it came out, people called me stupid and said that the whole concept of worrying about that was unneccessary and that it's not hard to switch. It came out as a plug-in than they made it an actual feature. That was by no means my fault, or influenced by me. That would be ignorant of me to say, however I was part of a mass. There was at least a few people that liked it. And they talked about it, and it got spread around a little bit. Then someone popular made a plug-in either through coincidence of having the same very easy to come up with idea as me and thirty other people, or from hearing about it. Seeing there was an actual demand for it ROBLOX made one. That's just how it's gonna work. If we want something we have to talk about it, and at least push a little bit and try to influence something to make it happen. If enough people want it they'll consider it. However, allot of things on the site won't happen if nobody talks about it. They're just one company, and there's gonna be ideas they come up with that we never would and vice versa. Oh and back to the first thing, I'd prefer to have 1000-2000 posts over a few years span with some content than 10000 3 sentence long posts and a ton of non-constructive criticism.
