By Lucain5959, Former Colonel:
It's with great sadness that I write this forum. I finally have realized the inevitable decay of F.E.A.R. if it continues on its same path. Within this forum, I will quickly outline the key signs of decay. I hope that someone can turn the group around in time. This is a bit long, but it details important points HRs should consider.
What Keeps A Group Running:
Several factors contribute to keeping a group growing and prosperous. I will only mention the few that have to do with the decay.
The use of a main base is vitally important to keeping a super-clan going. Members need a place to "call home". This is the type of place that's a lot of fun to defend (or attack, if you want raiders). You need people to be actively patrolling this place, as a large portion of a super-clan's time should be spent at their base. Unfortunately for F.E.A.R. at the present time, the main base is a piece of garbage. It's not that fun to be at...it's plan and drab. I often see that literally no one is there. How can this be with a group of almost 150,000 people in it!? That is a travesty which no one in F.E.A.R. has yet to address. I personally remember when Alianor and Alianor 2 had droves of people coming and going. Those times were the apex of F.E.A.R.'s existence. The introduction of Alianor 2 The Aftermath has created a sharp decline in visitors. I hear that perhaps Sonic will be releasing Alianor 3, yet F.E.A.R. will continue to spiral down in the meantime.
Training systems should be short and sweat. Yes, it may seem like it's way more efficient to create a fancy, complicated system of points (certificates, as F.E.A.R. likes to call them). However, these HRs have completely ignored the fact that the first glance of any training system is perhaps the only thing trainees will take into account before deciding to take part in this system. Trainees don't want complicated systems...and anything beyond a simple "come to the training and you may get promoted" can make them think that there's not much of a chance of them getting anywhere in the group. As a student of positive psychology, I can tell you that people who feel such a way will not do as well as others who believe they have a chance.
I would go into more things but I really don't have the time this week. Two for right now should keep you satisfied.
Regards, Lucain5959 |

| Yes, and this is your point of view. The commanding officers of F.E.A.R may either say otherwise or agree with you, but in no way are you in the position to question F.E.AR's motives. Whether you are a current commanding officer, a current soldier or a ex commanding officer and ex soldier, you shouldn't be the one to questions others ideals. But sadly, this is just how society is, curse you human rights freedom of speech.. |

| @inter I don't question their ideals, I have the same ones. I disapprove of their current administration of the group. |

So pretty much you come back for a day or two and completely have no idea what has been going on in the group, yet you decide to rant about it.
Sounds legit. |

| @unclear I made a mistake about the new training regulations, however I am now aware of how it works. Maybe F.E.A.R. isn't what is used to be becomes I'm right? |

| @beloxy Well, I hope you make a good decision. I am only trying to help F.E.A.R. Some people seem to hate that I'm trying to give advice on how I think the group could improve. |

I really couldn't care less for the training system. My motto is simple: Train FEAR members, and make sure they're having fun while doing so.
Personally, I don't award RC. That's just me though. |

Oh, and Lucain's correct. I see a "points" system as... well, odd with FEAR. This is extremely hypocritical of me, as I was in mass-support of this in the past.
FEAR's about fun; we aren't the most serious of groups. I feel as if we should stop try-harding. We should be strict, yes, but only when it gets attention and respect when needed.
In all, a war group, but a laid back one. That's how I see FEAR. And that's why I love it. |
