"morally or educationally" If you're going to bash religion, atleast list things that it really doesn't do anything for. |

If you ponder about it, religion has contributed to both society and history, and sciences of course.
For instance:
The Moslem religion has created the first hospitals and what would be algebra. Christianity has many people, such as Copernicus, Gregor Mendel, and many more people.
Yes, maybe "immoral" sides you say, but if a person believes 2+2=5, that person believes so, thus that would be moral to all believers that think 2+2=5.
Opinions, opinions.

Religion hasn't contributed much to science, and the religious people who did would have done so without religion.
I absolutely don't understand your last comment. The immorality I'm referring to is the genocide of Jews, wishing the killing of all qays, and suicide bombings, killings of non-believers. The list goes on. |

Name me a moral action committed by a religious person, in the name of there religion? Can't do it?
Name a disgustingly evil thing done by a religious person, in the name of there religion? You can think of one instantly. |

| Religion helped control the people and set civilization. But now that there are civilized places now, religion is almost, if not completely, unneeded. Many places are less religious. These happen to be more prosperous and developed countries. Nordic countries, West Europe, etc. Though I read another thing. Atheists are more likely to be depressed and commit siucide |

| Your right is has helped 'control' people's minds. Atheists being more likely to commit siiucide because of Japan, a secular country. |

| No I found this study for Nordic countries. And Japan commits suicude more because of their social issues, that is people are being discouraged from getting career they want, from having family, etc. also Japanese police will often mark off unsolvable/hard to solve cases are siucide |

Religion is the product of post-Enlightenment people wondering how this world and universe came to be made, and it survives to this day as a support people use to support themselves through difficult times by telling themselves that a Diety is watching over them.
Yes, religion causes violence and death, yet it can bring hope to people and help numb the pain of events such as relatives dying, because they'll believe they passed on to the afterlife. I respect people's beliefs and don't see any reason as to why others kill, expel, torture, or otherwise despise others over different faiths. The early Muslims, for example, were very, VERY tolerant of other faiths, and Jesus Christ from The Bible tells of "Loving Your Neighbor." |

| I know plent of atheists who can deal with others death or tragic events. Maybe religion helps with this but it is not needed. |

| It is archaic, but I disagree with people that call the faithful "stupid" or "unintelligent" because it gives people some sort of hope, that maybe there's more to life than just living and dying. |
