(Working on my iPad, so I apologize if the detail is a little under par with my usual works and if I make choppy posts)
[Based on the popular FTL game]
Space is the open realm for resources, land, and wealth. These three items hold the key to power, and power corrupts. Now this power has warped once peaceful nations into killing machines and power hungry creatures. However, they still wield different aspects that may change the course of the war.
- Races - Human - Skills increase slightly faster than other races (25%) Gork - Movement speed is slightly faster than other races (+2); Repair speed is slightly decreased (-1) Mantis - Movement speed is slightly increased (+1); Attack damage is slightly increased (+2); Health and Repair Speeds are slightly lower (-1 each) Rock - Health is slightly increased (+2); Immune to fire; Movement speed is slightly decreased (-2) Slug - Can detect life forms even if sensors are down; Immune to Mind Control; Movement speed is slightly decreased (-2) Gel - Immune to fire; Repair speed is slightly increased (+2); Have a battery life Erth - Health is slightly increased (+1); Heal every turn (+1/turn); Take bonus damage from fire (+2)

- How It's Played - Similar to my DnD thread, each person will start out with a 3-man crew and a ship according to the race they select. The RP will then function like an ISRP until I feel that the individual player has reached a point at which their RP can join with another.
Be warned, you may die. If you die, you will simply restart with a new ship (and to keep things interesting, the ship will be new every time).
Many actions will be determined by chance (dice).
A tutorial for each RP'er will be provided upon the startup of their ISRP.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you want to join, just post what race you would like and I'll get you started. |

How closely will this follow FTL?
I love FTL as a game, but I imagine it may get quite tedious doing the same thing going over and over again as an ISRP.
Love the idea though, count me in. |

- HOW TO PLAY - First, take a look at your systems. Start with the top. Ship details. This provides a brief overview of your ship, such as your hull and total amount of crew members.
Next, we have systems. Take a look at the Reactor system. This tells you how much power you are not using (the first number) and how much total power your ship holds (the second number). You can assign power to different parts of the ship, and sending it to certain places will do different things.
Now we have the Engines. When the Engines are powered, they... - Provide +5% Evasion per Level - Allow the ship to jump (Either to flee battle or move on)
Next is Weapons. Underneath weapons are the listed weapons your ship is currently using. They require power to function, which is shown under Requirements, which is located under the weapon name. The rest of the information for each weapon can also be located beneath the weapon name. Weapons cannot be half powered. You must have the required amount of power to start the weapon's charge. If the power is disrupted while the weapon is charging, it will quickly decharge and you must recharge it all over again.
Next, we have Shields. When powered, the Shields... - Provide a Shield around the ship that protects from certain projectiles and lasers. - Provide 1 Shield per 2 Power
Next, we have the Pilot. The Pilot... - Must be manned in order to function - Allows the ship to evade and move
Next, we have the Med-Bay. The Med-Bay heals crew members that enter that room. Next is the Oxygen. The Oxygen provides oxygen to the ship. Next we have the Doors. The Doors function only when power is present in that area. If power is not flowing to the Doors, they will sometimes get stuck and lock in crew members. Finally, we have the Sensors. The Sensors allow you to see every room on your ship. If they are not powered and/or broken, you will not be able to see any room in your ship that a crew member is not present in.
Scrap is Currency. Missiles are ammunition for missile using weapons. Drone Parts are used for drones (if your ship has such a system). Fuel is used per jump.
Now, back to the RP. Where do you want to assign your idle crew member? (One has already been sent to Pilot) |
