Legends, stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, creatures of destruction, the creatures of Grimm, set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on sending man's brief existence back into the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change. And in time, man's passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named Dust. Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die.
And when they are gone, darkness will return...

-|| USEFUL INFORMATION ||-
Please read here if you haven't watched the show or are confused about anything. Most questions you have should be answered here, but PM the creator or one of the admins if you're still confused.
BEACON ACADEMY - This is where most of our story will take place. It is a school focusing on training students with weapons, aura, semblance and occasionally Dust. It is led by Professor Ozpin [played by the creator or admins, if needed]. You'll have to be at least 17 to get in, however they will accept you at a younger age if you're gifted with fighting. You will occassionally go out on field trips and sometimes even go out and fight the creatures of Grimm!
DUST - Dust is one of the main weapons of man, coming in many shapes and sizes. Dust is the physical form of elemental energy, or in rare cases, even the energy of forces as strange and mystical as life and death. It is normally viewed as either a fine powder or a crystalline form, but can be seen as a liquid when processed, albeit rarely. Dust, being a form of energy, can be used in combat - and in everyday life as well. The use of Dust was how Humans originally defeated the Grimm. When combatants wielding Dust channel large amounts of the energy, complex circles of luminous energized Dust appear, with various shapes and runic incantations manifesting within them. These glyphs focus the energy of the Dust in order to cause large scale elemental phenomena or to defy natural laws. The more intricate these runes, generally, the more powerful the ability that is being used. Not all weapons use dust, however. Some use the person's Aura.
AURA - Aura is an ability that all those with a soul can use, at least, with enough practice. Aura is the power of a person's soul and spirit - its appearance can vary from person to person, such as one person's weak but evil aura being a small, flaky black cloaking while a powerful light person's aura could be a blinding cloak of white light. Aura can be used for both attack and defense, and is a quantifiable form of energy - you can run out and have to recharge aura, which is closely connected to your physical energy.
SEMBLANCE - Semblance is the manifestation of one's innate and personal power, as an ability unique to each individual, although the effects of Semblance vary greatly from user to user. Individuals possess their own unique Semblance that represents an aspect of their character.
WEAPONRY - The weaponry in Remnant is extremely evolved and efficient, usually coming in two forms, being able to transform and shift at the push of a button. It's almost always powered by Dust as energy and commonly uses it to harness the power of a certain element. Weaponry commonly shifts between two forms; melee and ranged. The melee is usually a sword, spear, dagger, scythe, etc. with the ranged being similar to a submachine gun or rifle.

Humans: The main species in the roleplay. Similar to humans we have today. - PLAYABLE
Faunus: A species that, while similar to humans, features a few key differences. Each possesses more animal-like features, ranging from a monkey's tail to cat's ears. They also posses some of the instincts from their animal. They are often oppressed by the people, with racism oh-so-common against them. - PLAYABLE
Grimm: Creatures without a soul, hellish, horrifying deviations of the animals we have today. There are many different kinds, some known and some in hiding, yet to be found. The key difference between these and all other races is that they do not possess any feelings or emotion - they are true darkness, the antipole of humanity. For this reason, they cannot use an Aura. - UNPLAYABLE

- No godmodding, powerplaying, or using OOC knowledge in character. - Mary Sues and Gary Sues will not be accepted. - Talk in brackets [ <--- These thingies --->] or parentheses ( <--- These --->) when using OOC chat. - "Its not in the rules!" is not as excuse. Use common sense (common sense ain't common at all, the only thing that's common is common flaw); If something seems wrong, then don't do it. - Besides the Schnee family and the teachers in Beacon, we will not mention characters from the show. You may ask, why are they the exceptions? Because the Schnee dust is a huge part of the series, as well are the teachers. Ruby, Yang, Jaune and all the others never existed. - You can die. #DealWithIt ~ We'll break his legs! - Romance isn't necessarily encouraged but is allowed. It makes everything more interesting and realistic if your character gets attached to another character, and see how they react when the other is gone or injured. - We start on the airship going to Beacon Academy. - You cannot be over 17, and you cannot be under 14. It is advised that you're 17, however you may be 14, 15 or 16 in special circumstances that have to be labeled in your CS. - Please be original with your weapons! It's fun and amazing to hear about what weapons you come up with, just try not to be the one who copies things from the show. - Based off of RWBY, an amazing show created by Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth. Very action-packed and dramatic, I recommend you watch it if you're into that kind of stuff. - Side NPCs can be created and controlled by every roleplayer, but essential NPCs, such as the headmaster or characters who create events, are controlled by me, but mostly the admins. - Rules can be made and shifted during the roleplay by admins if needed. - Please be descriptive. - Wait to be accepted.

Weapon: Allison, a sword/rifle hybrid.
Semblance: Ian can turn invisible for an amount of time. The longer he stays invisible, the less effective the cloaking is.
Abilities: When fighting in melee or hand-to-hand combat, Ian is very aggressive. He has a reputation for often decapitating or otherwise maiming enemies when using his sword. Aside from that, he is also skiled with his rifle form.
Bio: N/A
Appearance: Ian has an athletic build, with neat, pitch-black hair he keeps combed backwards. He has blue eyes, and a small scar on his cheek from when he was a child. Most of the time, he wears a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved, white shirt, underneath a lightweight set of white armor with a red trim.
Species: Human, though he is significantly more accepting of the Faunus than most.

Weapon Name: Allison, though Ian occasionally refers to it as "Alice" or just "Ally".
Weapon Abilities: Allison is a rifle/sword hybrid; in rifle mode, Ian sometimes uses Schnee Dust Company enhanced rounds that emit a concussive blast on impact, able to send an unarmored, human target up to 4 feet.
Weapon Appearance: In rifle mode, the one more commonly used by Ian in combat, it is a white, scoped rifle, with a red trim and red tinted lenses on the scope. Naturally, the weapon is white with a red trim, and the area where the revolver would be is replaced by a standard rifle mag.
Weapon Backstory: Lucy was created at Signal Academy, like the weapons of almost everyone attending Beacon. Nothing very special about it's past.
Dust: As mentioned before, Lucy uses Schnee Dust Company rounds, of the fire type. |

Name:Aein Age:14 Gender:M Weapin:Modified crossbow. Abilities:Able to shoot far, and stratigize well. Bio:Aein was a regular kid, but he was loved with battle stratagies, he was able to create stratagies in former wars, and ways to beat his opponent in chess. He was usually an outsider for his unsociable life past, but didn't like looking like a idiot all the time. He was met by a professer who found his skills as raw talent, but still unmastered, and that the academy might help him with that. Appearnce:He is a pale caucasian ale, 5'6, and a skinny build. Not very athletic, nor has much stamina. He is a dress to impress dresser, who wears a tuxiedo with a silver vest. --- Weapon Abilities:Good enhanced crossbow, but modified by Aein to fire off fire dust. Could blow a rabbit's head off. Weapon Appearance:Silver colored mainly. Trim is black, crossbow looks normal enough but obviously modified by strange looking gears, and a silver string. He also has a quiver full of bolts. |
