All of this is so confusing to me, I would love to learn. Where did you learn from the right beginning? How long did it take you? |

I never set out to learn, I just kinda learned.
I tried to make games that involved lots of scripting and I asked for help and explanations for where I went wrong and I started to understand and learn. |

| Looked at programming, seemed pretty cool the way you could make anything so me and my friend started learning batch (Please don't learn this ;-;). Then after a while we learned a programming language called python, very similar to Lua and learned it quite well. Then kinda lately we started learning Roblox Programming. It's so much easier when you know syntax of any programming language <3 |

| I took a time bomb script and turned it into a super retro path tool by removing the parts of code that made it explode and disappear. |

Also, don't just watch tutorials, one after another. I can guarantee you that you won't learn anything, and that you will not be able to write code off by heart.
Watch a tutorial, learn whatever it teaches you, and experiment with everything you just learned, think about how it could come into use, find its limitations, make things with it etc etc. Not only will that get the syntax in your head, but then you will fully understand the code. Be the kind of person who thinks "I wonder what would happen if I did this?" |

Batch is epic.
Lua is great starting out!
I learnt with a few guides;

When I was a lot younger, I thought the only type of script was admin. My script looked something like this;
kill/plr
tp/plr/plr
But with more commands XD |

| Reading the wiki and other scripts and making very simple stuff myself. (But I overcomplicated it, I didn't know about loops and I wrote a lot of lines for a simple thing lol) |

| First, I looked at all the basic tutorials on YouTube, the Wiki and LuaLearners. Then, when I was able to understand/write simple code, I came here, and started reading the posts. I looked carefully at each explanation someone gave and the errors people did. If I didn't know something, I searched it on the wiki and learnt it. When I was able to finally see the errors in most of the scripts here, I started helping. |

I started with LuaLearners, until it shut down. :( However, Wiki tutorials are super helpful as well. I'm still a beginner, and I'm starting to understand the concepts of a lot of different codes. I have a teacher, which I could ask him to help you get you started if you'd like. ScriptingHelpers.org is also a very helpful site. I make myself small scripting tasks to learn, and I ask about them on there. I study the codes until I understand them, and I experiment with them.
So much class and a whole lot of sass. |

| Wow thanks guys! Hopefully I'll be able to make something of myself and learn some Lua. I did try once but I just figured I wouldn't be able to expand my knowledge. |

@4 Maybe I'll consider that thing one day, but I have a question. Are you sure scriptinghelpers.org is safe? it asked me for my account name and is now asking me to put a code in my blurb. |

Scripting Helpers would not ask for your "code"
It was either a user or a incorrect site; anywho you don't need to enter any private information to ask questions. |

Virtual you have either
1. Never read his reply right
Or
2. Never been to SH (site)
It asks for your username, and for you to put a code they provide in your blurb to verify it is you. |

@lewisw60 I learned some batch too. It is probably the most useless language ever. |

100% safe. The code in your blurb is just to make sure that the account you claim to be if for sure you. The ROBLOX blog recommends it, and a ton of people on ROBLOX use it, including me.
