if you plan on traveling to a spanish speaking country in the future, learn spanish. If you plan on traveling to France one day, learn French.
You'll probably forget it when you leave school though.

Spanish is a European language, I want it taught to me by a European from the nation itself that represents Spanish culture, not the corrupted stuff you find in Central America, plus Spain is now thought of as being the same as Mexico due to everyone there thinking themselves "Hispanic" when they are mixed.
I think Cuba, Uruguay, and Argentina are the only countries that still preserve most Spanish culture, as they have mostly European populations with some flavors of African culture |

uhm what even. hispanics is the the correct term for people from latin america btw. latinos are people from latin america and the 'typical' latino is a person of mixed native and spanish descent, commonly african descent too.

| A hispanic is a person that has majority ties to SPAIN, a Latino is someone that speaks a Latin language. The stereotype is that all Latinos/Hispanics are brown, dumb, illegal immigrants, when that isn't true at all. They're descendants to one of the most powerful empires in human history whose nations took on their own modifications of Spanish culture and added Native or African mixes to it. |

It was a mistake to call them Hispanics, because then it turned that title into a massive controversy and confusion. It would have been much simpler to call them "mestizo," kind of like Brazil has the "Pardo" classification, which means someone with partial Indigenous or African blood |

| Generally, people are considered Hispanic if they're from like central America or those islands near North and South America. Since Christopher Columbus sailed there and discovered Hispaniola and the Caribbean. Latinos/Latinas refer to Latin America. Then for Spanish people, they're just called Spaniards. |

@crusader
that i aggree with
@iceking
yes it would be simpler if america just went by that, but they dont unfortunately, they make mestizos choose between native and white, which is really confusing because latin america has a different race system. |
