-It would create a new branch of biology that studies live dinosaurs, thus making more jobs for people -New dinosaur zoos would become a massive fad -The dinosaur zoos would earn a ton of money, and they'd also open up more job opportunities as maintenance workers for the zoos -Children would be able to see dinosaurs and be inspired by them
Negatives:
-If released to the wild, they could destroy the "food chains" -Dinosaurs are unpredictable creatures, and paleontologists could only guess so much from them -- they might have some hidden "tricks up their sleeves" -They would kill people, much like animals kill people |

IMO, though, every animal could kill a person in one way or another...
If we really don't bring dinosaurs back to life just because we're scared they'll kill us, we might as well get rid of all of Earth's animals that could even pose a remote threat toward us... |

If they were easy to see, they wouldn't inspire kids. |

Modern bacteria and viruses would kill the dinosaurs in mere seconds
Not enough oxygen to keep them alive
sorry for ruining your dreams

the reason we shouldn't bring back dinosaurs is because 90% of human life doesn't care
I'm not lying |

"Many people would probably die"
you have to look at the grand scheme of things reintroducing dinosaurs into the wild will obviously have some huge short-term effects, but eventually either the world will adapt to their presence or they'll die out |

Positives: My sister will get the pet T-Rex she's always wanted
Negatives: It would probably eat her, as well as the rest of my family |

"If they were easy to see, they wouldn't inspire kids."
I'm talking about in a zoolike perspective...
How often does a kid go to a zoo? Once a year if they're lucky?
Now, sure, we could breed specific dinosaurs as pets (being realistic, the smaller ones would seem more likely candidates), but I don't think anyone is going to pay to have a pet stegosaurus living in their backyard... |

How do we know they don't have a natural immunity to today's bacteria and viruses? And we could always make artificial habitats for them...
"you have to look at the grand scheme of things reintroducing dinosaurs into the wild will obviously have some huge short-term effects, but eventually either the world will adapt to their presence or they'll die out"
Yes, exactly.
If we keep them alive in captivity, they should be ok. |
