Lets discuss homeschooling, what are your thoughts on it? How do you feel about it? Discuss.

you probably won't get any friends if you're homeschooled

I think its what parents do to keep their children from socializing with other at a public school. Meaning they want their kids to grow up "Socially Awkward".

@expone
actually i homeschool and i can say this
whenever i go out to a park or such i don't become "awkward" towards people, and i asked to be homeschooled
it's better getting to to math at khan academy while sitting in my house with cats and other animals then annoying brats bullying / distracting me
k

not all the time, there's a girl who went to my school and she had to be homeschooled because she suffers with anorexia and asperges
her and her mum made a video about it all if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2juI_aViyc |

I'm not socially awkward, and I'm homeschooled. My older sister has a highly social-heavy job with lots of interaction and she does it just fine, being homeschooled her whole life.
A lot of times we're MORE social than most people because we go so many places while everyone else is still doing their schoolwork.
Plus we get it done quicker, and some studies show that homeschoolers have a higher IQ, as well.
And of course, no excuses about faking sick. :)

tru tru. but homeschooling aint for everyone. and it can make a child, "Socially Awkward" if they were NEVER in public before.

It depends, if your parents don't hammer you you could get less of an education, I guess. Mine don't do that, though.

try khan academy, like i said
it basically covers everything the school system does, for a few exceptions of course

One of my pet peeves about homeschooling is that everyone assumes we sit in our house all day. It's not true at ALL. Most of our friends that are homeschooled all are like us, we go places, we do stuff.
When we go to a store we frequently go to, we know the employees by name. When we go to an appointment we have chats with the doctors. When we simply go to the park we have fun with complete strangers.
My point being that yes, some people just shouldn't homeschool their children, however if they are able to do it well, it's much more fun for all of the family, plus it's not like the parents are the teachers. We still use curriculums and professional programs, we do it on the computer, and get it done quickly.
I'm currently a bit behind because of my health issues, however I can easily double my schoolwork and get it done by noon even with doing twice as much.
I don't have distractions of a teacher, as it's on the computer, I don't have distractions of a time limit, and most of all I don't have the distraction of fellow classmates.
