Like what factors determine it etc.
I've immedeatly thought of all LOGICAL ways that I thought people determined value. (i.e., that graph thingy, prices on the board) and have been proven wrong each time.
Someone please tell me how we determine value, because I'm slowly starting to think it's a stupid system and we all should have continued using the RAP system the ADMINS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY TO DETERMINE VALUE WHILE TRADING. |

What the item goes for commonly Don't listen to people who say Things like Oh ac is 210k
The thing is some people are going by values we used to go by months ago however it's discountined |

Let me correct you there, both of you.
If it is determined by price and what the item commonly goes for alone, then how do we get items that are selling for 20-30k for instance but have a reputation, and a strong one supported by many people saying the item is worth 60k?
It makes absolutely no sense. |

@Rom it's like USD vs Monopoly money
Both are made of paper
If you sold the materials to make the items it'd be like a penny
But it was we determine the price of a dollar is and if everyone goes by that value then that's the definition of the value of a dollar.
If we value the items are certain values and everyone goes by it then that's an ecosystem
Demand and value plays roles in the items just as much as real world items in stores such as walmart.
If it has no demand they drop the prices so they can sell them
If it has high demand they will raise it because they know people will buy them.

Also I do think whatever the item sells for is the value.
NOT RAP
but what the item gets normally for offers.
And some people will take UPs to get rid of it and some people will only accept OPs
And if we went by selling value EST and such would still be high up there since owners will only accept 3M robux
It'd lower value inflation |

@Izag: Don't get me wrong, I COMEPLETELY understand how demand works and it makes sense and can be measured, but from just trading I have learned that demand does not factor whatsoever into configuring the value of something.
For instance, an item can have really bad demand but it's value can be through the roof at 120k for example, mainly common in rare items.
@Knee: Absolutely correct good sur, thank you for confirming. |

that's only if they overvalue it
the owners determine the value of the item as they can choose what to or not to trade it for |

@Wazap: And we see no problem in this utterly stupid system?
That's not how real economies work and while here, on roblox we cannot hope to reach a completely realistic economy that is actually stable and works, the RAP system was the closest to it.
RAP>Value, kay. |

@Paola: Correction, they can choose what they WANT to trade it for, not saying that they WILL get the item they suddenly demand for.

@Paola:
On the contrary, I spent a good six months rap trading when the trade system was still new and made wonderful profit on many items.
The system does not in fact cause you to lose profit unless of course you underball a trade for an item you want or whatever reason.
The point is, the admins intended that be how we value items.
It works, and actually makes sense it's worked off averages.
And we can still configure RAP+Demand+rarity to determine if the item is good or not.
All RAP does is make a finite, unargueable system of determining what the item is worth and makes it understandable to all.

Demand has a HUGE factor here
Tree Helm is apparently 220k low demand
BSF is 180k good demand
Tree Helm adds for BSF
so I mean that's how things are working now.
And RAP trading is a horrible idea, items that are high in price rarely sell because of tax on items.
EST is 100k-200k rap
Illumina is 350k rap
EST >>>>>>>>> Illumina |

Well roblox economy cannot be compared to a real economy And you can make profit much faster by knowing the demand and the value of an item |

I mean, by god, the value system is pretty much our version of clan wars.
That being everyone arguing over what something is/what happened and there being no finite system to say what is.

People will always argue that their item is worth more than it actually is
that's business/biased opinions
