You really don't have to pay attention in class until 8th grade. That means pay attention and do work in 8th grade. After 8th grade, start working your ass off. Literally.
Excuse me, but that's inappropriate for school. |

In eighth grade we get to go to Washington D.C.
It's a waste of 500 dollars, really, but next year everyone's going. It's going to be awful, staying at the school... Those 3 entire days. |

In my school we do the same thing!
I really don't think I'm going to go...being away from home for so long intimidates me, especially without my siblings, a computer, or my own bedroom... |

If I take French 2 and 3 next year I get to go to France for a week. If I take French 2 as a senior I get to go to France for a week in 2017.

Ikr, I really don't want to pack all my bags and move all the time. Like every 10 minutes in D.C. you have to go pick up your heavy suitcase, and go somewhere else there. You also have to be super respectful and quiet. People go there and blow their money on souvenirs, what's the point of that?
Plus they rent hotel rooms there, it's all paid for with the 500 dollars that comes with the pass. Hotel rooms seem to be the thing that'll show up all white if you go in with a blacklight. |

I'd be terrified about getting lost...
Good thing that field trips are optional, right? :') |

Yep, thank goodness field trips are optional! Imagine being forced to fork out 500 dollars to go on a field trip you don't even want to go on. They always try to push me on previous field trips, even if I don't want to go.
Anyways, a hobby where I can have just as much fun is to go fishing. I might give some fish to my pet duck, I'm unsure though whether or not they can consume fish. |

My school actually scheduled a field trip on my birthday. I'm going to go, it sounds like it'll be fun. Even though we've never had a boring field trip before, yah, it would be pretty bad if you were forced to go! That'd be such a waste of $500, being unable to enjoy it all...
I've only fished twice, and I was 4, 5 or 6... |

Fishing seems fun, the way I do it, haha.
I've only truly fished when I was 8 or so but the rest of the times I just catch tiny fish in a bucket, look at them and let them go. I also like to bring bread to the pond and throw tiny pieces in the water. It's fun to watch the big fish go after it.
We're going to get new licenses soon though. |

It is really. If you ever fish, I'd recommend keeping away from places that people visit a lot to fish. It's better to be eaten alive by gnats than to have some worm on a hook pinned to your shirt.
There's also restrictions on what fish you can catch, and there's a proper way to unhook fish from your fishing hook.
Some people just rip the fish off the hook or something, then you find the dead fish on the shore. |
